Hello everyone! Pozdrav svima!

The month of November 2022 was pretty nice, but nowhere near as nice as last month. If you don't know what October brought to me you can read all about in last month's 👉 post. 👈

There were some big changes in the world of Splinterlands in the month of November. Some battle mechanics updates, new card releases and some exciting market changes.

Right on the first day of the month we got a new update that brought us three new rulesets - Thorns, Magic Reflect and Return Fire (week later renamed to 'Briar Patch', 'Counterspell' and 'Fire & Regret').

Week after that we got the second Airdrop card for the Riftwatchers card edition, Kain Hace, a Legendary unit from the Death element. In this update there were also some tech modernization updates, which included updates that affect the overall look and feel of the pages but not the basic functionality experienced by the players.

Another big change happened during this month - They have reduced the number of reward shares earned by winning players when they use cards in a ranked battle that are below the intended levels for each league. This change was approved by SPS governance proposal.

  • A calculation service has been implemented to calculate the reward reductions necessary for ranked battle wins based on the BCX of the cards.
  • A notification has been added to the ranked battle card selection screen that will inform players of selected cards that do not meet the minimum league requirements and the reward reductions that will occur if they choose to use those cards.
  • A reward reduction section has been added to the rewards calculation display on the Battle Results modal, indicating a breakdown of the reward share reductions.
  • A ‘Full Earning Requirement’ section has been added to the League Rewards screen that can be accessed by clicking on the Leagues button on the battle page.

Few days later Lux Vega was finally released and game mechanics have been implemented to allow the use of the Lux Vega card in the Splinterlands ecosystem.

A bunch of game mechanic updates and general updates followed that, and right before the month end we got another big feature added to the website - The Other Items section of the Market now has content! You can now buy and sell Packs, Land Claims, Totems, and Titles on the non-card section of the Market. Purchases can be made via Credits or Dark Energy Crystals (DEC), and all payments will be made to sellers in DEC. The standard 5% market fee will be applied to what the seller receives on transactions, in the same fashion as the Card Market.

Very exciting month with a bunch of changes, so let's see how it reflected to my account progress.

During this month I've added about 200 staked SPS to my portfolio, but the SPS price is down again from the same time last month ($0.040 vs $0.055) so the total value of my SPS is almost 10 USD less then 30 days ago, despite having it more.
Nevertheless, I'm still staking as much SPS as I can.

In the month of November we had 2 seasons (98 and 99). I played in Modern Silver 1 league for silver and gold season chest. The silver chest was actually a mistake at my end, because I forgot to advance to Gold league on the last day of the season, like I usually do, and it costed me more then I thought it would.

Season 98 I played mostly in Silver 1 (except the days I was fighting my way up after EOS rating reset), I had some ups and downs, good and bad days
In the end I finished with decent 60% win rate and earned 69 silver season chests, together with 149 daily chests (with an average of 9.3 chests per day).

As you can see in the chart below, my SPS earnings were pretty constant (constantly miserable) during the whole season, with a small jump in the end from EOS chest. The trend continues of my SPS earnings depending solely on Battle rewards with a very few exceptions in Chest rewards.

Season98_SPS_Chart.png

As I said at the start, I made a mistake and played for Silver season chests and they didn't yield any big rewards. One epic card and less then a handful of SPS.

In my own experience it is much better to get 40ish gold chests then 70 silver ones. If you don't believe me, read the rest of the post and see my next season rewards.

In Season 99 I played for Gold season chest and I stepped up my game a bit, winning more battles, ending with a nice 64% win rate.
I finished the season with 44 gold season chests and 148 daily chests (just 1 less then in Season 98) - that's an average of amazing 9.9 chests per day. It makes this season one of the best since I'm keeping score.

Season99_Table.png

SPS earnings in this season were even more miserable then the season before, with only one bright spot in form of EOS chests rewards (the big spike on the last day).

Season99_SPS_Chart.png

As you can see, even though there were 40% less gold season chests then the silver ones season before the rewards were 6 times better.

I even got a legendary card - Venator Kinjo - which I use every day. And SPS rewards was great - almost 33 SPS. 🤑

I opened only one gladius pack this month, didn't get anything worth mentioning. But I got one CL pack in daily chest on the last day of the month and when I opened it I was pleasantly surprised.

Gold Foil Riftwing and one epic card! For me that's a pack worth the attention.

For the ones that like numbers, I made a recap of the whole month.

IncomeAmount
DEC earned from rentals17,578.372
SPS earned from battles97.265
SPS earned from chests55.604
OutcomeAmount
DEC spent on rentals and fees5,220.347
PROFIT (DEC)12,358.025
PROFIT (SPS)152.869

Total DEC profit from rentals was at the same level as it was last month, but I managed to cut down on rentals by 2.5k DEC.
SPS earnings were also on the same level as the month before, but mostly thanks to big reward from this last EOS chests.

It is so much easier to track your earning now with the new Currency Activity feature in-game, kudos to Splinterlands developer team for making this happen.

I explained how to use this feature, export it to Excel and do the calculations with the data in one of my previous posts. If you missed it, you can find it in the link below:

Big shout out to @deadzy for making this beautiful splintershare site, where you can see all your chest rewards for last couple of months and easily share it with your fiends and family.

Also, I have to mention guys from @splinterrents. Without their rental service I wouldn't be able to manage my rentals, have time to play AND make awesome blog posts. I highly recommend this service! 👍
