Hello everyone! Pozdrav svima!

The season 111 was a season of a big announcements in Splinterlands, but also big spending on my part. I bought some cards, trying to reach goal of getting my deck to max Gold league level, and also rented all the other cards I'm missing spending ton of DEC along the way.

Before we get into how I did this season, let's check out what happened in the world of Splinterlands during this Season 111 that took part in the second part of May 2023.

Splitter.png

First update of the season didn't bring any huge changes, but some discreet ones.

A new Account Security page has been added to the drop down option menu. From this section you can set an e-mail if none is associated with your account, verify your e-mail address is valid, change the existing e-mail on an account, change your password for your account, or request your keys after buying the Spellbook.

image.png

You can now change the e-mail associated with your account in-game. This functionality requires active key authority and the new e-mail cannot already be associated with another account. Support has put together a guide for this process that can be found 👉 here 👈.

image.png

There was also a Gameplay Update that fixed the Resurrection and Rebirth abilities to properly clear Affliction, Blind, Cripple, Halving, Poison, Snare, and Weaken. Recharging is also now reset.

And finally some General Updates regarding the way cards for sale and rent are pulled from the system to improve the load time for listings and reduce data transfer amounts.

The second update of the season brought us the Unlimited Power! The cap on purchasing additional energy has been removed. Instead, the cost now scales up by 50% after every 25 additional energy purchased per day.

image.png

SPS Airdrop has been revisited as the link has been added on the SPS Management page to go back and claim unredeemed SPS air drops from Hive, Binance, Wax, or Ethereum assets. This is preparation for latest SPS Governance Proposal to End SPS Airdrop Claims & Send Unclaimed SPS to DAO (👉 link 👈).

image.png

They have also released some very basic API documentation at https://api.splinterlands.com/doc. This is generated documentation, so there is not a lot of details on what each API does, but hopefully the third party developers can expand upon this information to make it easier for the community to build tools.

Now lets get to the juicy part of the news.

On the first day of the season (or the last day of previous season - whichever you like more) there was a Town Hall where they announced that SPS staking will replace Collection power! This means that SPS staking will determine your rewards (amount of reward shares) in battles based on a formula that is based on your rating (as you move up in rating, the amount of SPS that you need will slowly increase).
Values for each league and tier rating currently look like this (but this is subject to a change):

image.png

I don't need to say that his caused many discussions all around the world of Splinterlands, many don't like these changes (the SPS requirements), other welcome them. Don't forget that you can always get delegated SPS instead of buying so you can earn more, so not all is lost.

New upgrade to existing guild system was announced in this Town Hall with introduction of Guild Points. You can read it in more detail in this 👉 post 👈.

Town Hall that was held the next week gave us a hint of a 5 Years Anniversary event - The Great Burning that was about to happen (later we found out it was to start on May 30th).
It all started the day after this season ended, details can be found 👉 here 👈.

image.png

At the moment of writing this post the event has already started and there was over 300mil DEC and 150mil DEC-B burned ALREADY! 🔥🔥🔥

image.png

I burned 20k DEC, just to have a chance of winning some prizes (although seeing the leaderboard, I'm not really holding my breath).

This event lasts 30 days, and after that there will be a raffle for the prizes. 🤞

Splitter.png

During this season 111 I managed to stake another 800 SPS bringing the total just over 8k staked SPS. Also, I've been playing some tournaments earning some extra SPS so the USD value of my SPS portfolio went up (about $9) even though the market price again went down (it is at $0.021 compared to $0.023 last season).

SPS.png

My goal is to keep staking as much SPS I get especially now when we know what is coming soon.

Splitter.png

With prices of cards still being so low is bought some cards again, just like I did last few seasons, spending around 160k DEC.

As I already upgraded my Chaos Legion rare summoners to max Gold level (I have all five of them at level 6 now), this season I continued buying commons and rares and a couple of epics. Legendary cards are still quite expensive for me to upgrade, so I'll do them gradually.

My current collection is now just over 118k CP (plus 22.7k CP in Gladiator cards and 63k CP in Soulbound reward cards), and that is a jump of 22k CP in span of a season, or two weeks.

This season I played in Modern Gold league for Diamond season chests. With my deck being stronger from all the purchases I made, my win-rate improved a bit.

I ended the season just above 3100 rating and that secured Diamond 2 promotion that I needed to reset back to Gold 1 and to play for Diamond season chest in next season.

Lets see how this season turned out in numbers.

I finished the season with amazing win rate of 67% and earned staggering 61 Diamond season chests, together with 161 daily focus chests (which makes it an average of awesome 11.5 chests per day). So the renting more cards resulted in better performance (as it should), but I doubt it will result in any extra profit.
Compared to last season this is an improvement in win rate by 2%, 6 more season chests and 3 more daily chests.

Season111_Table.png

The SPS chart below shows that my SPS earnings were pretty constant during the whole season, with a big spike on the last day - that is the SPS from EOS chest. Battle SPS is still most often much higher then SPS rewards from chests and I don't think this will ever change.

Season111_SPS_Chart.png

The rating chart below shows my steady climb towards Diamond rating, with a two bad days. Starting from Gold 1 really helps, because I get to my "normal" earnings quite early in the season.

Season111_Rating.png

I ended the season at 3134 rating, enough for Diamond 2, quite comfortably. I played a couple of games on last day, but after losing 5 in a row, I didn't want to risk falling back down to Diamond 1 rating which would mean starting from Silver. This way my rating will reset at 2500 - Gold 1 league - for a nice start of the next season.

Splitter.png

After pretty decent EOS rewards last season, I hoped that these extra 6 (total 61) Diamond chests will give me even better rewards and justify my higher rental cost this season.

I did get 1 Legendary card and a hefty amount of SPS, but the rest of the rewards were not that great, nothing you would brag about to your friends. 😆

For the ones that like numbers, I made a recap of the whole season.

IncomeAmount
DEC earned from rentals1938.815
SPS earned from battles176.883
SPS earned from chests213.529
OutcomeAmount
DEC spent on rentals and fees-17,028.580
PROFIT (DEC)-15,089.765
PROFIT (SPS)390.412

Total DEC income from rentals totally plummeted this month as I combined a lot of cards that I used to rent and use them I battles. On top of that splinterrents service was offline for a few days and that had some impact.
If that wasn't bad enough I spent more then double DEC on renting then last season because I started playing some tournaments and you really need to be on top of your game in those.
On the bright side SPS earnings were 30% better then last season but it's all going into staking.

It is so much easier to track your earning now with the new Currency Activity feature in-game, kudos to Splinterlands developer team for making this happen.

CurrencyActivity.png

I explained how to use this feature, export it to Excel and do the calculations with the data in one of my previous posts. If you missed it, you can find it in the link below:

And finally, for the ones that like to look at the pretty card pictures (like me) I will show you my whole season recap of chest winnings - all 225 of them (Diamond EOS and daily Gold chests combined). 😍

The month of May is over and so is the event Monster May-Hem on Splinterlands.tv where streamers were handing out cards in their streams.

mayhem.png

They distributed over 2000 cards to active viewers, and the total value of the giveaways was worth over $10,000. Check out the post and see for yourself. All I can say that one of the better rewards - max level Alric Stormbringer didn't get pulled.

But the events do not stop here, we have even better event in June called Summoner Summer.

summer.png

The Summoner Summer promotion, as the name states, this giveaway will be very summoner heavy. There will be a mix of Chaos Legion summoners, Alpha and Beta summoners at various levels, Gold Foil Promo Summoners plus a max Delwyn Dragonscale, and dozens of Untamed Rare and Legendary Summoners including the grand prize GOLD FOIL BYZANTINE KITTY!!

image.png

Just so you know, that Kitty has my name written all over it, so don't be sad when I get her. 😍

Splitter.png

Big shout out to @deadzy for making this beautiful splintershare site, where you can see all your chest rewards for last couple of months and easily share it with your fiends and family.

Also, I have to mention guys from @splinterrents. Without their rental service I wouldn't be able to manage my rentals, have time to play AND make awesome blog posts. I highly recommend this service! (when they come back online) 👍

And this last screenshot, the season summary, was made on splex.gg site.
