Splinterlands Season 119 Report - by @pero82
Hello everyone! Pozdrav svima!
I haven't done a season report for almost 2 months now, due to summer vacation then lack of free time because I got swamped with work.
But I couldn't pass this one because I made it to the leaderboard second time ever! In the meantime I'm getting ready for land, bought 2 more plots, bunch of cards and spent a heap of DEC on it.
Before I get into how I did this season, let's check out what happened in the world of Splinterlands during this Season 119 that took part in the second part of September 2023.
Just before the season started we got the 4th Riftwatchers Airdrop - Sea Wreck! Anyone who bought a pack in-game had a 1/250 chance per pack of getting one airdropped. For every 250 packs purchased, you had one guaranteed card, and for every card airdropped, there was a 4% chance that it will be a gold foil card instead of a regular foil.
Of course, I didn't manage to get a single BCX of the card. Such a shame, because Sea Wreck has awesome stats and abilities.
After that we had long awaited Terms of Service Update that added brawls and tournaments to the game modes where using automated play is prohibited per this passed proposal. Language has also been added to expand what is considered illegal modes of play for Ranked Modern, Tournament, and Brawls per passed proposal here. Both proposals were made by one of the pillars of our great community - Mr. @davemccoy.
In that same update we got new feature about the Focus - You can now get additional re-rolls on your daily focus by burning in-game Vouchers. That's another great use-case for Vouchers. The cost per re-roll per league is:
League | Cost |
---|---|
Bronze | 0.5 Vouchers |
Silver | 1 Vouchers |
Gold | 5 Vouchers |
Diamond | 10 Vouchers |
Champion | 15 Vouchers |
Few days after this all happened we got some not so great news (or maybe they are) about staff reductions and organization restructuring. If you missed it you can read all about it in this post.
In short, development is now focused on Land and new card set - Rebellion. There have been a company split - Steem Monsters Corp. (which will operate Splinterlands and Soulkeep) will be led by @yabapmatt and separate entity called Invennium Corp. (which will operate Genesis League Sports and everything else except Splinterlands and Soulkeep) will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Steem Monsters Corp. (the parent company) and will be led by @aggroed and Steem Monsters Corp.
Hopefully this will get us back to the golden age of Splinterlands. 😇
In last few months (since my last season report post) I managed to stake 12k SPS, almost doubling my staked SPS. Most of my staked SPS come from battle and chest rewards and some tournaments.
The USD value of my SPS portfolio went up by more then 100 USD but not double since market price of SPS dropped (it is at $0.013 compared to $0.018 couple of months ago).
Total supply of SPS went up for 58 mil since then, total liquid dropped 28 mil, and total staked SPS is now 86 million SPS higher. My goal is to keep staking all the SPS I get.
In these last couple of months I finally completed my collection of Chaos Legion cards and now I have full Gold level Chaos Legion deck and I switched my focus onto Riftwatchers.
But since Land is coming soon(tm) I got infected by the FOMO and spent loads of money buying plots and GF cards to fill the worker slots on my land.
Currently I have five plots (4 common and 1 rare natural plot), and mix of Epic, Rare and Common Gold Foil maxed cards I plan on populating my land with.
Of course, where would I be if I didn't make a spreadsheet for my land plots..
As you can see, I plan on making my best plot (rare one) produce SPS while the rest will produce Grain in order to feed the SPS workers.
I still need to buy some GF Dax Paragons so if you have some extra, feel free to DM me.
This season I played a mix of Wild and Modern Gold league for Diamond season chests. I continued to rent most of the important Untamed and Riftwatchers cards, so my win-rate is till quite high.
Going into the last day of the season I was just inside top 20 in Wild league leaderboards, so I tried to push to get inside the top 10. I was very close but after couple of losses I stopped not to risk dropping outside top 20. I switched my focus to Modern League and pushed to Diamond rating so I could advance to Diamond 3 and play for Diamond season chest next season.
I literally made it over 2800 rating on the last battle of my last energy. Wow, that felt great, everything worked as planned - first time ever!
I finished the season at 13th place in Wild league securing a 10,000 DEC reward, which covered almost half of my rentals of the season.
Next season goal is to try and achieve similar result. Uh, that would be nice...
Lets see how this season looked like in numbers.
I finished the season with amazing win rate of 73% and earned 67 Diamond season chests, together with another 187 Gold daily focus chests (which makes it an average of 12.5 chests per day).
Renting those awesome Untamed and Riftwatchers cards resulted in great performance (as it should), but still have to get better EOS to have any extra profit.
The SPS chart below shows that my SPS earnings were pretty constant during the whole season, with a big spike on the last day - that is the SPS from EOS chest.
Battle SPS is still most often much higher then SPS rewards from chests and I don't think this will ever change.
The rating chart below shows my steady climb towards Leaderboard rating, without any big dips or spikes. Starting from Gold 1 really helps, because I get to my "normal" earnings quite early in the season.
I ended the season at 3253 rating in Wild League and 2824 rating in Modern League. I advanced to Diamond in modern and got 13th leaderboard place in Wild, getting 10,000 DEC.
That's why I my rating in Wild will reset to 2050 - middle of Gold 3 league, and Modern will reset to 2350 - middle of Gold 2 league.
After great EOS SPS rewards last few season, I hoped this season will be on pair. It wasn't, but it was still quite decent.
But, what stood out were 2 legendary cards - Ava the Undaunted and Musa Saline! 😍
I need 1 more bcx of Ava to get her to level 3, and with this 1 bcx of Musa I can max her to level 4 now! Amazing!
I got 1 CL pack, that was only my 2nd this season. Drop rate really got low these last few seasons... 😕
For the ones that like numbers, I made a recap of the whole season.
Income | Amount |
---|---|
DEC earned from rentals | 2,612.408 |
DEC reward from leaderboards | 10,000.000 |
DEC earned from tournaments | 6,666.67 |
SPS earned from battles | 388.718 |
SPS earned from chests | 415.354 |
SPS earned from tournaments | 709.000 |
Outcome | Amount |
DEC spent on rentals and fees | -26,996.747 |
DEC spent on renting SPS | -2802.747 |
SPS spent on tournament fees | -60.000 |
PROFIT (DEC) | -10,519.672 |
PROFIT (SPS) | 1,961.541 |
Total DEC income from rentals is so low, that I'm contemplating on stopping renting and selling all my surplus cards. But prices of cards are so low, that I feel it's simply not worth - better to hodl and wait for bull market.
It is so much easier to track your earning now with the new Currency Activity feature in-game, kudos to Splinterlands developer team for making this happen.
I explained how to use this feature, export it to Excel and do the calculations with the data in one of my previous posts. If you missed it, you can find it in the link below:
And finally, for the ones that like to look at the pretty card pictures (like me) I will show you my whole season recap - all 255 of them (67 Diamond EOS and 188 daily Gold chests combined). 😍
You might notice that those two legendaries I won in the EOS chests weren't the only legendary cards this season. I got 3x legendary Death card Skok Duskblight and I did win 2x GF Noa the Just - awesome epic water card.
Now, here is the recap in numbers:
CARDS | |
---|---|
Common Regular | Common Gold Foil |
223 | 13 |
Rare Regular | Rare Gold Foil |
57 | 1 |
Epic Regular | Epic Gold Foil |
5 | 2 |

I participated in a lot of tournaments this season, I thought I should summarize them.

As you can see, I had most success in Modern tournaments, with exception of LLAC tournament with only Novice level cards, but with no legendary summoners. I got a really nice reward there and tournament was super fun.
Sadly, Splinterlands TV was one of the things that had to go, when the company went into restructuring.
The event that went through the whole summer called Summoner Summer was great, TONS of cards were given away.
The grand prize - a GOLD FOIL BYZANTINE KITTY was given away somewhere at the end of August. This Kitty finally got her owner - a lucky lucky (but awesome) guy named @shawnft, who didn't sell her (like most ppl would've done) but he's playing her and renting her out sometimes. Kudos, bro.
If you want to see prizes that have been handed out in this event, check out the blog of my dear friend @jabeesaints. His post lists the winners sorted by total card values won!
Splinterlands TV may be no more, but the streamers are still streaming, go and support them all. You can find a list of Splinterlands streamers 👉 here 👈 made by another great person, very important member of our community, a streamer, developer of Baron's Toolbox - Mr. @axlertwinblade.
Big shout out to @deadzy for making this beautiful splintershare site, where you can see all your chest rewards for last couple of months and easily share it with your fiends and family.
Also, I have to mention guys from @splinterrents. Without their rental service I wouldn't be able to manage my rentals, have time to play AND make awesome blog posts. I highly recommend this service! 👍
And this last season rewards screenshot, the season summary, was made on splex.gg site.
Special thanks to @lenonmc21 for giving me advices about the text formatting to make my posts even better. 👌
