# First Time in Gold League (Investment pays off) - Splinter Stats Season 73 Report Card

this was my first season (the second half anyway) back after a few months away, due to personal reasons.
Before I returned, I bought around 40-45k in CP for a couple hundred bucks and was surprised how card prices had fallen in contrast to the late stages of the bull market.
I remember the time, I bought Djinn Oshannus for 40$ and was happy with the price.
Now I could max out gold cards with the same money. Crazy.

As I joined the race in the middle of the season, I ran through silver with an 18 winning streak, after I got over the bronze bump (bronze players are hard to beat) and found myself in gold for the first time, since I started playing Splinterlands.
My rating was a couple of times higher than Silver I or Gold III, but I never had the CP.
I'm currently at a few CP short of 110k and for next season I try to get to 150k, because the rating of 2848 is good for Diamond III. I want to at least finish in Gold II next season and come July, I try to push to Gold I with 200k CP as long as prizes stay at the bottom (or isn't this the bottom? I'd love that, to be honest. We are now in the accumulation phase).
Well, after I clicked the "Advance" button and found myself in gold for the first time, I thought, I wouldn't be able to win even one game. But then I had another record winning streak of 22 wins.
I was pretty content, even if DEC rewards this late in the game were not that great.
Coming back after a long break and beat your own record is always nice.
The new cards and upgrades (For the first time I could play with level 5 summoners) paid off big time.
I started losing heavily, when I matched up against the golden summoners. Yodin et al at this level were too strong for my deck, but I intend to come back with a vengeance :o).

This season was a season of "firsts". I got my first Chaos Legion pack in a daily chest and in it was a goldfoil card.
For the season rewards, I got 11 cards, four of which were new ones.
2 Merdhampirs, one Blood Maker and one Dhampir Infiltrator.
I don't know yet if they fit in my deck, when I eventually upgrade them, but new cards are always exciting :).

The only card I rent myself is the Furious Chicken, but I want that card as soon as possible, as long as prices are as low as today.
I don't even know, which cards I currently rent out. Have to check that. Could be an area to improve.

400+ SPS is good, but I have to invest a good chunk of money to be able to reach my goal of buying 1 validator node. I will make a big purchase 10 days before the airdrop ends and then wait if the price appreciates.
I am pretty content with my season and hope, the next season will be even better.
We have a reward system and I don't know, if I get many daily focus chests, but I want to top my season rating and want to close in Gold II. That would be a good season.

thank you for your comment and the kind tips. This is my second account, my splinterlands account so-to-speak :o). My main account is @freedomprepper and I am unsure, if I should post all of my splinterlands content with the @prepperfreiiheit account or if I should split them. Season report cards have to be posted with the Splinterlands account name, that's why I posted with this account. What would you recommend?
