Starting Splinterlands as a New Player - Day 3

Despite adding $50 in credits, I was still a little shy of the 1,000 CP I needed to advance to Bronze 2. So, I did what any self respecting addict would do. I bought another $10 of my new drug of choice and proceeded to chase the high. I did manage to get into Bronze 2 though, so I should be able to start earning DEC again and hopefully starting seeing a return albiet a slow one. I'm hoping to start stacking some DEC for the general sale of the boosters, assuming they aren't going to require vouchers.

What cards did you buy to get the 1000 CP?
A bought a gold version of each of the common CL rewards cards. I also bought enough commons of each to have 2 lvl 2 copies of the normal cards. I probably could have gotten them cheaper had I been a bit more patient, but I wanted to get to Bronze 2 as quickly as possible to start earning DEC again.
Also, I figure Gold versions of the card will hold their value well/better. They typically have/do in normal CCG games, there isn't a reason to think they won't here.

In case you want to post for a longer time then power up 5-10 HIVE in your Hive Keychain. That way you will have always enough RC ;) This will be well worth it on the long run if your posts get recognized.
If you want to get to Bronze 1 / Silver 3 then start to work on this on the 3rd-4th day of the new season.
Why then?
The last days of the season have insane renting costs.
In the first days of the season a lot of players from the higher leagues fall down to the Bronze 3/Silver 1 leagues, so it is very hard to do even the daily quests.
The renting prices are also usually normalizing at that point, and many of the rents I had were not cancelled at the end of the last season (I hope the same will be true this time around as well).
