DARK HA'ON AND CORRUPTED PEGASUS ARE THE BEST DEATH SPLINTER DUO

~ Hi Hi Splinterlands Lovers ~

Welcome back to my blog, @queen-silvia, In this Battle weekly Challenge, I am going to share to all of you about the best death Splinter duo in Splinterlands world. They are Corrupted Pegasus and Dark Ha'on. Both monsters are belong to legendary cards, Corrupted Pegasus costs 6 mana while Dark Ha'on costs 10 mana, so we can only use these monsters in the battle which has at least 16 mana. The reasons why Corrupted Pegasus and Dark Ha'on are so special when they are used together in the battle will be explained in this article.

- DARK HA'ON STATS OVERVIEW -

Alright, let's start this article with Dark Ha'on ability overview.

1. Taunt

His main abilities are taunt and flying. The taunt ability will make all of the opponents attack will go to this monster which means that he is protecting all the monsters in the backline who has low health. Fyi, many death monsters have low health points such as Fallen Specter, Soulstorm, Ancient Lich, etc.

2. Flying

The second ability is flying. This ability has an important role to evade physical attack from melee or ranged attack monsters who don't have flying ability. In Earthquake ruleset, this ability is very crucial as it will prevent Dark Ha'on to get hit by 2 damage in each round. Any monsters who don't have flying, heal or triage ability will die in the earthquake ruleset.

3. Scavenger

The third ability is scavenger. This ability is activated when Dark Ha'on reached level. 2. This ability will make Dark Ha'on lives longer since whenever there is a monster, either friendly team or opponent's team died, His health points will be added by 1. So, The more monsters died, the stronger Dark Ha'on will be. as an addition, with the help of Corrupted Pegasus tank heal ability, once Dark Ha'on health point reaches 15, the tank heal will restore 5 health points for dark Ha'on. That's one of many reasons why Dark Ha'on and Corrupted Pegasus is such an immortal combo.

4. Void

Additional skill once Dark Ha'on reached level 3 is Void. This skill is very useful especially when the opponent used magic monsters a lot since Void will reduce all of the magic attacks. Attack damage gets halved (rounded up), except attack 1 which deals 0 damage. So, we have to put Lv.3 Dark Ha'on once we saw lots of magic monsters in the opponent's last 5 matches.

5. Magic reflect

The last additional skill which makes Dark Ha'on as the great tank against magic monster is magic reflect. This ability will allow Dark Ha'on to reflect the reduced magic attack back to the attacker. We need to put monster with amplify ability to increase the damage of magic reflect.

Well, let's move into Dark Pegasus ability Overview :

1. Flying

Both Dark Ha'on and Corrupted Pegasus have Flying ability which is pretty useful in earthquake ruleset to protect them from getting 2 physical damage in each turn and avoid attack from melee or ranged attack monsters who don't have flying ability. The weaknesses of this ability is snare. All of the snare ability can not miss when targeting monster with flying attack.

2. Reach

The second ability is reach. This ability allow Corrupted Pegasus to attack from the second position. At level 3, this monster has 3 melee attack which is considered high as the mana cost is 6. Both Corrupted Pegasus and Dark Ha'on are Melee monsters so they would not be able to use in "Keep your distance ruleset".

3. Strengthen

The third ability unlocked when Corrupted Pegasus reached level 2 is Strengthen. This ability will give additional 1 health point to all of friendly monsters. This ability is very important for Dark Ha'on, once he has 15 health points, (as a result of any monsters died or strengthen effect), the tank heal ability from Corrupted Pegasus will restore 5 points each round. The more interesting thing is, When Dark Ha'on health points reached 18, 6 health points will be restored and so forth. This way, we can say Dark Ha'on is an immortal monster.

4. Tank heal

This ability is unlocked once Corrupted Pegasus reached lv.3 and maximum level (4). The skill makes Corrupted Pegasus the best combo with Dark Ha'on as all of the enemies attack will hit Dark Ha'on and as Corrupted Pegasus has the tank heal ability and restore Dark Ha'on's health points, all of the enemies attacks are pointless as long as they can not kill Dark Ha'on.

The ruleset in the battle is only 1, Lost magic which means that only melee and ranged attack monsters can be used in the battle. Monster with shield ability is a good tank as he can reduced all of the attack. There are 4 splinters available, fire, water, earth and death.

Monsters with Magic attack may not be used in battles. The tips for this ruleset is do not use monsters or summoners who has relation with magic like magic reflect or void or phase etc since they are useless. Use monsters with shield instead.

Summoner

Mimosa Nightshade

I used this summoner because she has minus 1 ranged attack. This is intended to anticipate if the opponent used monsters with more than 1 ranged attack. Another usage of this summoner is affliction, which prevent any monsters either in the first position or in the backline to be healed. Although she has another skill, void, this ability is considered pointless since the ruleset is Lost magic. No magic monsters will be available to be used in the battle.

Monster

Dark Ha'on (1).png
Dark Ha'on

As I have explained in the previous section. This monster is a very good tank with his abilities; taunt, flying, scavenger, magic reflect and void. Along with Corrupted Pegasus, They are undeadly combo as all of the opponent's monsters will attack Dark Ha'on but in each turn, Dark Pegasus will always restore 1/3 of Dark Ha'on health points with his Tank Heal ability. His taunt ability is protecting fragile monsters with low health points in the backline.

Corrupted Pegasus

The second monster is Corrupted Pegasus. The main ability which makes him the best combo along with Dark Ha'on is Tank Heal ability as the ability will restore one third of Dark Ha'on health points. Not only pretty good in defending but Corrupted Pegasus is great in attacking the opponent's tank monster too. With 6 mana cost, this monster has 4 melee attack at maximum level. Reach ability will allow him to attack start from second position and flying ability enable him to evade any attack from opponent melee or ranged attack.

Soulstorm (1).png
Soul Storm

The third monster is Soulstorm. This monster is pretty strong in attacking in lv.5 as he has 4 ranged attack and 5 speed already. Most of the time, this monster always attack first with high attack. But in terms of health point, this monster has poor HP since he has 3 health point only, so he could die easily after getting hit by opponent's opportunity monster, so dark Ha'on takes the important role to keep this monster alive with his taunt ability.

Weirding warrior

The next monster is Weirding Warrior. His main ability is Shatter which destroys all of the opponent's armour once his attack hits the target. So he is a beast against monster equipped with armour. Another interesting ability is amplify which increases the damage of Thorn, Magic Reflect and Return fire so whenever we put monster with Thorn, Magic Reflect and Return fire abilities, it's strongly recommended to put Weirding warrior as well to increase the damage.

Octopider (1).png
Octopider

The next monster is Octopider. This monster has an important role to reduce the damage of all the opponent's melee attack in the battlefield. Since the ruleset is lost magic so there are only 2 types of damage which are available, melee and ranged attack. I put Soulstorm to decrease the damage of ranged attack monster as well. This is the advantage of using death splinter as we can de-buff the opponent's attack.

Riftwing (1).png
Riftwing

The last monster is Riftwing. I put the bird in the last position since he has 5 speed and flying ability. This way, The chance to evade sneak monsters who don't have flying ability is very high and if the opponent attack is missed then the attacker will take 2 damage as Riftwing has backfire ability. Another interesting skill is Scavenger. Whenever a monster die in the battlefield, Riftwing health point will be increased by 1 point.

- BATTLE ANALYSIS -

Well, for now, let's jump into the battle analysis.

Round 1

In the first round, demoralize ability from Octopider is very useful since all of the melee attack monsters (Diemonshark, Deeplurker and Sandworm) reduced by 1. Alric's team is using Wave Brood who makes all of the death team attacks goes to him with his taunt ability. The same thing happened in Death Splinter, All of the Alric team goes to Dark Ha'on with his taunt ability.

Round 2

In round 2, Both Diemonshark and Wave Brood killed after getting tremendous attack by death team. In this round, we can see that all of the Alric team is pointless since at the end of round 2, Dark Ha'on health point is back to the initial value, 15. Death Splinter looks very overpower at this point. Fragile death monsters such as Soulstorm and Weirding warrior are protected by Dark Ha'on's taunt ability.

Round 3

In the third round, 3 water monsters are defeated (Deeplurker, Sandworm, Igor Darkspear) as death team has very huge attack. As 5 opponent's monster died Dark Ha'on and Riftwing health points increased by 5 which make them much more stronger and very difficult to beat.

Round 4

Crustacean King died shortly after getting hit by Soulstorm and Octopider. At the end, Dark Ha'on health points become 20, very high as a tank. If we looked at all of the Death monsters, none of them having a scratch. All we can see is The health points of Dark Ha'on becomes 20 and Riftwing becomes 13. This means that the formation is perfect.

I love to see awesome Death content... my favorite splinter by far.

Same if I can't count dragons. Mimosa changed this splinter for me for many of the reasons mentioned in the article, particularly how her abilities so heavily bolster lower mana or weak health cards. I don't have a dark Ha'on, though, so my Pegasus combo is usually LoD, nightmare, or pelacor deceiver. I rent DA once in a while, though, because that taunt ability is such a powerful tool to wield.
