Hey everyone, hope this finds you well. .... When life hands you lemons, make lemonade! Our river camping trip was cancelled. Which is probably for the best. The 10 day radar for that area has storms Thursday thru Sunday. Anyways.. that didn't stop us. We came camping to a lake not too far from us. PLUS we have friends that was already here so we came here a day early.

No, regular camping. We had a tent, and air mattress.. similar to glamping I guess but we had our on tents. I'd never heard of glamping until we got there. They had 2 white, heavy duty tents with little picnic tables and chairs 85 a night I think. I was like to hell with that! 🤣

Hahaha yea, I have to say I don't understand the glamping either. It kind of defeats the purpose of camping. But then again I am obviously not the target audience. To be honest not even for camping any longer either. Too tired of sleeping on a bedroll on the ground, too many roots and stones. And not to mention sleeping on an incline, that is probably the worst thing. Did my fair chair of that in the military and when I was younger and dumber. Now it is a normal bed for me. ^^

But glad you guys seemed to enjoy it. Were there any fishing and marshmallows as well? In Sweden we usually grill hotdogs or finger bread, bread wrapped around a stick and grill it like a hot dog over an open flame. But marshmallows are slowly getting more and more popular here as well.

I had planned on doing some smores marshmallow & Hershey chocolate smashed between 2 Graham crackers.. But my oldest grandson wasn't able to make it. And the 2 year old dang sure didn't need any lol he has his own snacks. The non sugar non hyper kind🤣🤣
I love tent camping... But I'm going to have a queen size blow up mattress. I can't lay on the hard ground anymore either! 🤦🤣

Haha yea it is like the younger ones have an in-body sugar factory. And it has enough fuel to keep going for the first couple of years.

The only problem with those blow up mattresses is unless they have the motor on it takes forever to blow them oup =/ But it is good exorcie for the lungs ^^

Haha right! If I had to blow it up... I'd have died! Thankfully I had a manual pump, like a bicycle pump with attachments.. It wore my arms OUT! BUT it's GREAT for abs!! It had me sitting on the floor of the tent... Holding the pump between my legs... criss-crossed my arms over the handles and crunched! My stars it was a workout!! But WELL worth it!! The mattress looked like a regular queen mattress... Not the 2 in thick kind (that has you on the ground by morning) but it was like 10 in tall! So even if it lost a bit of air we still wasn't on the ground🥰

Haha so it is sort of like one of those ab crunchers they used to run ads for don't he tv back when. =)

I tend to end up with my but on the ground despite using the thicker matress. But that's because I am on the heavier side. I usually end up in the position I have dubbed the sleeping V. It also means anyone I share the mattress with tends to sleep just fine on a well-pumnped side. Unless they weigh more than me that is. =/
