Hello guys, welcome back to Ramadhanight's Hive Blog on Splinterlands Weekly Battle Challenge's Session. For this week Battle Challenge, I want to review my battle on Guild Brawl. I face this monster on epic situation with the dramatic result. Without any further, let's start this weekly battle challenge session !
~Lore of Rifwing~
Before we start taking about the battle, let's talk about the summoner first. For those who loves a story, i bring you the lore of the Rifwing
Riftwings are drawn to splinters and rifts. They feed off their energy and grow larger the closer they live to a portal. The Chaos Legion uses them as a means to locate rifts. In war, they are utilized as scouts, providing valuable information and as a way to harass/distract enemy forces, thereby slowing them down..

General Information About Rifwing
Now that we knew about the lore of this monster, let's have a look at his stats and ability. The information about this monster's stats and ability are shown below
Rifwing is a common detah monster with just 4 mana cap which is makes him a suitable monster for any condition. Ge got the scavenger and flying ability since 1st level, then gained backfire ability at 5th level (Silver League), and then having the Headwinds debuff on 8th level (Gold League). His health started with 5 then increased into 6 at lv 2, then increased again into 7 at lv 4 and could be 8 at maxed level. His speed is just 3 at the start, then increased into 4 at lv 3 and since the 7th level become 5. This monster don't have any attack at all, so he could be a decoy for the snipe ruleset.

Before we discuss about the formation, here is the rules for this match
No Armor : All armor are stripped on this match and no one able to have it. Physical monster will have a better performance because they will strike true enemies health (should be, but let's see the result !)
25 Mana Cap : Medium low mana cap, Suitabe for the riftwing.
Splinter available : Only Fire and Death splinter are available.

| 6th Monster |  | Shield | With no armor ruleset, i expect enemies would use sneak monster. This monster could be a great back tanker with his shield ability to reduce enemies physical damage impact to him |
Does My Strategy is Worked ? :

On 1st round, i could managed to eliminate enemies front monster. Tood bad that with same 2 speed, it's my range monster that doing the attack first. Could've triggers the bloodlust ability from my gladius monster there.
On 2nd round, i could manage to kill enemies shavi, but what could get me the lose is that my range attack with it's poison didn't have a chance to attack the riftwing. Poison is what i need to eliminate this enemy
I managed to eliminate another enemies backline monster, but my tanker was eliminated as well this round.
On 4th Round, my tank backup is eliminated, but i could eliminate enemies bonesmith as well.
On 5th round, enemies last hitter is eliminated with the magic reflect, now it's 1 vs 3 !
Should've won the match with this line up, eh ?
But no ! Since 6th round until the 10th round, my teams were eliminated 1 by 1 after a miss and another miss. Even shavi that have same speed got missed by riftwing's fly ability.
Congratulation to my enemy, his bet is pays off. Riftwing with no attack are managed to eliminate my last 3 monster !
Discuss About Rifwing :
What i like about Rifwing:
What i like about this monster is first that he got 4 mana cost which allowed him to play on little league ruleset, and could fit to almost all mana cap ruleset. I also love his scavenger to bulk up his health point, and the backfire combined with flying ability is a scary for any melee and range monster with low speed. On higher league, he could reduce enemies range damage as well with his headwinds ability. Is he really a common monster ?
What i don't like about Rifwing:
With many usefull ability, his only problem might be his 0
attack, which cause him powerless to hit enemies, and without the backfire, he couldn't land any damage to enemies. No attacks mean he could received double damage from enemies with the opress ability as well ! He also don't have a counter mechanism for magical monster, except with summoners help like the owster rotwell that used by my enemy.
When to Use Rifwing:
I suggest you to use this monster when you sure your enemies would use low speed physical (melee or range) monster, and if you are on gold league or above, use him when you think might face yodin or other range squad will be a great addition for debuff enemies range attack. Ruleset such as poison will be good for him too because he got scavenger ability, combined with mimosa to prevent enemies from regen, he could be the last monster to survive. And don't forget the snipe ruleset that will aim non melee monster first! riftwing could be a great decoy for wasting enemies attack especially the ranged one. This monster is good enough as well on no melee ruleset !
When to Avoid Rifwing:
I don't recommend you to use this monster on ultra high mana cap ruleset because there is many better monster with better stats and ability. I also don't recommend you to use this monster when facing high magic damage enemies, except with owster rotwell to help him counter them. Riftwing will not good enough as well on ruleset that melee could attack from anywhere because you could use monster with melee attack instead.
Conclussion
Rifwing is very effective against low speed melee and range monster (especially the ranged one because he got the headwins ability) because he got the backfire and fly ability to help him hurt enemies. Get some slow debuff and some speed buff to help him perform better, but be carefull to use him against magic monster because he got nothing to help against those enemies, except if you use the owster rotwell summoner to give magic reflect. Riftwing is usefull on medium low mana ruleset, but on very high mana cap, better pick other monster with better stats and ability (there were many !). This monster is usefull as well on no melee ruleset and snipe ruleset for decoy to waste enemies attack
