Socmed.png

Hello everyone, welcome back to Ramadhanight's Hive Blog on Splinterlands Weekly Battle Challenge's Session. For this week Challenge, I want to share my battle which my opponent remind me of the old trick, but a ruleset have changed the powerfull meta into terrible formation. Without any further, let's see how it goes !

About Ruleset and Ferocity

I have made a post that talking about ruleset here. I will take a simple note about ruleset.

Ruleset is a specific rules that randomly applied on each battle. It's very important to understand the rules and makes decision based on it, because ruleset could be a game changer. Ruleset will empower some monsters and could weakened some others !

Now let's see the new ruleset that some might not notice because not giving bigger impact such as thorn, return fire, or reflect magic. It's the ferocity !

For a battle without any taunt or any ruleset that makes taunt having bigger impact, this ruleset seems useless, but on the match we were going to see, there is another important ruleset that the taunt might help you to win, it's the explosive weaponry ruleset!

image.png

Blast cause any damage that landed on a monster will hit another monster beside them, that's why snipe and opportunity might cause damage into 3 monsters at once, while the normal and sneak could hit 2 monsters at once. This is why people are considering to use a taunt ability to bring all damage into 1 monster with high health and defensive ability, and with help of reflection shield, the blast will nerfed and not causing damage for the monsters that have it. What it will become if this great combination is meet the ferocity ruleset ? Let's see on the battle below !

My Lineup's Explanation :

Rules :

image.png

Before we discuss about the formation, here is the rules for this match
Explosive Weapory : All monsters having blast ability !
Ferocity: All monsters having fury ability !
42 mana cap: Medium high mana cap, suitable for bring high mana taunt monsters if you dare to do it.
Splinter available : All splinters except dragons are available.

PositionCardAbilityStrategy
Summonerimage.png+2 health, stampede, reachUsefull for adding some health to survive this battle with many blast, got stampede to give more blast damage after eliminate an enemy, and reach to help the 2nd monster blasting enemies as well.
Tankerimage.pngHealHigh damage monster to give massive damage and blast damage. Got high health and heal ability to survive for long round if enemies decide to go sneaking.
2nd Monsterimage.pngShieldHigh armor and shield to help the team to stand against physical damage if enemies decides to. Having 3 physical damage as well to hurt enemies
3rd Monsterimage.pngVoid, PhaseVoid to anticipate if enemy is decide to go for magic, having phase and high speed as well to evade both magic and physical damage against snipe or facing melee monster up front.
4th Monsterimage.pngSneakLow mana with great damage, having 4 speed as well to help getting earlier turn and accurate damage to hurt enemies, becaus speed is important on this ruleset.
5th Monsterimage.pngshieldAnother shield ability, but this time is on the back, to stand against the sneaker, but put him on 5th because he lack of speed, i won't hurt another monsters because 1 speed will take any damage without any chance to miss.
6th Monsterimage.pngfly, sneakAnother sneaker to hit enemies. Beside high speed, he also got fly ability to help evade any physical damage from the back, that's why i put him on last position.

I want to talk about my enemy's formation as well, but won't be too detailed like mine, just my point of view of it.

Kraken on the front combined with kinjo is a great formation to stand against the blast because Kraken will attract all attack while kinjo will nerf all the blast. On the back, he got hard magic damager with total 11 magic damage after buff, combined with kraken, it would be 15 damage ! But his defense is hardly depend on kraken, which on this match, with ferocity ruleset, will get doubled damage, he really need to evade all damage, but i don't see any speed buff, so it would be his biggest mistake.

First round is a very busy round. Beside the buff from each summoners and monsters, the blast effect is taking the time. My team got +2 health, reach and stampede buff, while my enemies are having +1 magic buff from the summoners. Then it started with my enemies phantom that land 4 magic damage and 2 magic blast, next is kraken with 4 damage and 2 blast, and keep continue as gif below. Kraken didn't last for long because my team could cope with his 4 speed and there is no mising damage which saw kraken receive all damage that multipled because of the ferocity ruleset. Kinjo is he next victim, continued with magi of chaos and larissa. Really good stampede happened this round. It's 6 vs 1 now in the end of 1st round !!

With just the phantom left, there is no chance for my enemy to win. A hit by Djin Oshanus left enemies with no monster left because the phantom itself already receive major damage on previous round due to the blast ruleset. Great victory !

Discuss About Ferocity :

I always say that ruleset is very important and could be match decider, so we always need to notice and set the cards based on the ruleset. This ferocity is really bring great addition for the battle since people loved to use the taunt with support to stand against all damage, but with this ruleset, taunt will having higher risk as it will receive double damage. I personally only use taunt monster on this ruleset only if i think the monster with taunt would evade mos if not all damage, and it would cost you some damage to get the speed buff, and if there is kitty, your speed will means nothing in terms to evading the hit 😂

Conclussion

Any rules have their own impact on the battle, big or little is depend on our and enemies formation. Get the benefit of the ruleset by set monster that suit it, but if you can't, at least don't put monsters that will get the enemies having advantage. Be wise to see every rules since there is more than 1 rules might appear (could be 3 at each match !) and don't only focus on one rules since the other rules might nerf it or having great impact to a certain formation that the one ruleset would suit it.
