Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - 25% Win Rate This Time

Time flies! Just completed the 8th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

• Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

• Persevering In Novice Fray

For this brawl, I continued to persevere in Novice fray and I picked Fray 2, i.e. 1/1/1/1. The horror stories are indeed true and I think I should give up this fray for a better challenger. Didn't do well this time and I don't think I could do any better with my cards on hand.

• We Got 4th!

So for the final result, we finished 4th out of 10 guilds and got 415 Merits, which was still a good result. However, given that we have finished in the top 3 many times, I felt a little disappointed but am sure we will get back to our winning ways!

Individually, I had 8 fights this time and I managed only 2 wins, finishing 10th within the guild. My card collection just wasn't enough to handle all the overpowered teams and I did my best. Will continue to improve and play my Gladius cards better.

Gladius Card Used: Chimney Wallstop

I thought I would nail this Earthquake battle with Brighton Bloom. However, my opponent's Venari Crystalsmith/Djinn Chwala combination took out my cards faster than Earthquake could take out theirs.

Gladius Card Used: Orella Abadon

An Equaliser battle was the best choice for Orella Abadon as it boosted its squishy HP. Came out comfortably ahead this time!

Battle 3 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Hugo Strongsword

I failed to predict that Shieldbearer would come out as the tank, and was too eager to gamble on my only Life Gladius card. In the end, I took too long to finish Shieldbearer and couldn't get through the 0 mana cards to the backline in time.

Battle 4 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: None

This match was lost due to Spirit Hoarder. Nothing much I could do given my limited cards on hand.

Battle 5 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Isgard Vorst

In a series of unfortunate sequences, my opponent's Isgard Vorst got Bloodlust first and was simply luckier to get all the last hits. In the end, even a strong Water lineup wasn't able to survive a 5 or 6 Melee hit.

Reason why I lost - Quora Townshead. Enough said.

Gladius Card Used: Katrelba Gobson

Reason why I lost - Quora Townshead. Enough said. Again.

Battle 8 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Relenor Cleaver

Finally it all clicked together. Relenor Cleaver was just too tanky in this Blast battle and Cursed Windeku's Thorns was no match for him.

So that sums up my 8 battles for this brawl! No free wins this time!
