Personal Progress Update - Q1 2022 (Splinterlands, Freewriters, Liotes, Scholar and Scribe)

It's time for another quarterly stocktake of my blogging adventures on Hive.

As a quick introduction, I made my first post on 29 Sep 2021 and it was an introductory post about my Splinterlands journey. Since then, it has been more than 6 months and I have been actively posting and curating on Hive.

And I just want to say how grateful I am to be making friends within this community and receiving so much support, be it in the form of upvotes, comments, or even sharing of new knowledge.

So here's what I have been busy with over the past 3 months:

  • Splinterlands: I have continued with my Splinterlands-related postings, including the weekly challenges, crunching card probabilities and statistics, DEC giveaways and free card delegations! Feel free to check them out under my posts if you are in need of DEC or card delegations!
  • Freewriters: I have been diligently writing ZapFic entries for the Monday and Friday editions and I was extremely glad to be recognised as the winners/runners-up in a few of my entries.
  • Liotes Project: This was a project that I chanced upon during my time in Hive and I found the concept very interesting. So far I have joined the weekly missions, bought LENM to mine LEN tokens, and delegated HP to them. Hopefully this project will do well in the future. You can read more about them here.
  • Scholar and Scribe: This was also another project, or rather, a community that I was introduced to by @blitzzzz. They are all about creative writing (which I learnt is different from freewriting) and you can find them here. I have been posting my weekly chapters of my story (The Legend of Doria) over there and I can't believe it's at Chapter 30 already! I must say some of the posts over there are very interesting to read too. At the same time, I am also learning new things about writing and hopefully I can improve on this aspect too! Interestingly, as part of the "pioneers" posting in the community, I was eligible for the airdrop of their newly launched tribe tokens (SCHOLAR and SCRIBE), and it would be interesting to see how their valuations evolve with the dynamics of mining/curation.

Now onto the financial aspects of my blogging experience, here's what I have accumulated so far as of 7 April 2022 (at time of writing).

Hive Wallet

TokenAmountPriceUSD
HP2540.979248.67
HBD1840.992182.53
Total431.20

In the past quarter, I have accumulated 141 more HP and 79 more HBD. Even though the price of Hive has fallen from 1.40 to 0.979, my Hive Wallet has grown from USD 261.94 to USD 431.20.

Hive Engine Wallet
*only included tokens with substantial values, i.e. above 1% of my Hive Wallet (USD 4.31)

TokenAmountUSDDescription
LENM1243.48Investment (Funded with 45 HBD in Q1 2022)
SCHOLAR73.335.89Airdrop/Curation under Scholar and Scribe
ONEUP1,85218.54Curation under 1UP
SPT10,91216.11Curation under Splinterlands
CARTEL14.90Investment (Funded with 10 HBD in Q4 2021)
Total118.92

Have included a column this time to provide a description of the tokens so that it helps me keep track of my involvement in various projects.

LENM and SCHOLAR are new tokens which have made it to the list. For LENM, almost all of the tokens were bought with HBD. For SCHOLAR, 10 tokens were airdropped and the rest came from curating and mining.

For ONEUP and SPT, even though I have accumulated 910 more ONEUP and 3,531 more SPT in the past quarter, the total USD value as of now is even lower than what I had 3 months ago. Which brings me to my final point, unlike Hive and HBD, tribe tokens in the Hive Engine Wallet are more susceptible to massive price swings and have poorer liquidity, so these USD values are just for reference (i.e. likely lesser if I would to divest all at one go). This is also why I have separated the totals between the Hive Wallet and Hive Engine Wallet.

Grand Total: 550.12

Finally, the grand total increased to USD 550.12 from USD 326.44 a quarter ago. I guess you could say there's some steady progress. :)

As always, thanks for reading and have a pleasant day ahead! See you in the Q2 update!

Nice extra income there! Keep track of progress is a good way to see if there any adjustment needed to make along the way. :)

On the battlefield, many strategies can help your team win despite the presence of famous or unpopular cards in the lineup.

Yes that's true. There are many ways to play the cards in Splinterlands! Thanks for your help as always!

This is a fantastic quarterly progress update. It's always nice to have a breakdown of your progress in the form of a post to reflect on. You did really well in various avenues of accumulation. I haven't really touched other tokens except Leo, perhaps that is something I should also think about for the future :)

Have a great week ahead Relf
