SPS is the governance token for the Hive Blog Network's blockchain game Splinterlands. Holding and staking these tokens will allow the holder of the token to have some say in the direction Splinterlands is headed. There's multiple ways to attain the SPS token. Some of those ways include buying directly from exchanges like Hive-Engine, participating in the year long airdrop and staking the SPS tokens you already have.

The SPS airdrop has started and will continue on until the token has been dropped for 365 days straight. Currently (8/12/2021) we are on day 17 so there's still plenty of time to get some free SPS tokens. The airdrop rules are simple, hold Splinterland assets and be included in the daily airdrop. The table below will show what Splinterlands assets are included and the amount of airdrop points they will earn you for holding them.

SPS First Use Case

As noted above staking SPS tokens will earn you more SPS tokens (How awesome is that). I wanted to bring this to your attention because the APR earned from staking very much depends on the total amount of SPS staked. Currently the supply is on the smaller end which means with each passing day the amount of total SPS staked grows. As the amount of SPS staked grows the APR given per staked SPS shrinks. Currently the APR is at a massive 272%. This number will quickly go down so get those SPS staked TODAY for maximum staking rewards. It only takes four weeks to unstake (25% given back each week).
