Lets Take Another Look At My Chaos Legion Investment
Some months back I purchased 740 CHAOS Legion booster packs from the secondary markets (Hive Dex's, Ex. LeoDex / Hive-Engine / TribalDex). Today (09/03/2023) I still hold all 740 of those packs. With the overall markets dipping it got me curious as to how that over-all investment is panning out. Lets take a look at the numbers......

There is only one move for me and that is to HOLD. If one believes Splinterlands will continue to be a success than one must also make the assumption that these Chaos Legion Packs are priced at a steal right now. I'm curious to see what the price of these (CL PACKS) will be once the new set is introduced to the Splinterlands game. Will players opt in for paying (what I assume will be at least $5 USD) for the new set or will they opt for the set (Chaos Legion) in which they can purchase from secondary markets such as LeoDex and Hive-Engine for a fraction of that (assumed) $5 cost. Currently Chaos Legion Packs are a steal at $1.20 and they been floating around that price for awhile. In HIVE Token value that equals to about 4.3-4.4 worth of HIVE at current (09/03/2023) buy and sell order prices. If we take a look at the numbers displayed above we will see a loss in USD but the overall cost of purchase in HIVE Value is down less than 10%. I'm more than content to hold and wait to see what the markets do. In fact if the HIVE price spikes and Chaos Packs remain around the same price in USD I might even purchase some more.

What Is Chaos Legion?
Chaos Legion is a set of NFT's (cards) that are playable in the Hive Blockchain game known as Splinterlands. They can be traded on the in game marketplace and many secondary markets. Chaos Legion cards can be found in boosters packs in which contain 5 Chaos Legion NFT's (cards) each. Four common cards and one rare card are guaranteed to be found in each booster pack.

Splinterlands is a blockchain game built on the Hive Network. The game itself utilizes NFT's for game play. The world right now is in a total chaos. I Dont believe the growth in stock... the fear factor is high right now. The crypto sphere is suffering as result. But this days will end (may take some times even years who know...)and another bull run will arrive. And then those packs may make some nice profit

For those who previously bought things that were too expensive and now their prices have become much cheaper, now is a good time to put in some more money and bring your prices down to where you bought them. Some more money will have to be put in and then when the market goes up we will see people making very good profits.
Dollar cost averaging is certainly an option at current time.

You bought a nice amount of chaos legion packs. I was thinking of doing the same because I did it back then with untamed and it wa a very good investment. It's difficult to evaluate how the prices for chaos will evolve but I definitely agree with you that the only startegy for the moment is to hold them :-)

Packs have been one of my worst crypto investments, hindsight is a grand thing!
I think allot of us are in that same boat. Its going to be interesting to see what happens to the price of CL Packs once the new set is released. I'm also curious on how the sales are going to go for the new set.

Hold always a good strategy. Gotta see the value of the cards go up. There are some pack value tools out there and the current price is basically inline with the value of the cards you get from opening.
