Land

Splinterlands land is part of a huge upcoming expansion to the game that will grant owners the ability to craft their own items and spells for use in Splinterlands battles.

Praetoria: The New Frontier

The great Gloridax tournaments are held in the Moxian Arena, in the shadow of Mount Mox near the Praetorian shore. These tournaments host thousands of travelers from all around the Splinterlands each day, but the vast, open wilderness of the continent of Praetoria has been a secret to the people of the Splinterlands for many generations. With the recent dissolution of the council who protected the sacred grounds, the Wizard's Veil of secrecy was lifted and the land of the Praetorian continent was opened for ownership.

Exclusive rights to sell claims to the Wizards' Land were granted to three companies: The Mothrook Goathelm Exploration Company, Tunnelworks Ventures and Gobson WagonTech. These companies are now not only selling claims to the land, but on location, breaking ground and making way for the multitudes of settlers who will soon migrate there from the six Splinters.

Primary Sale - SOLD OUT

Land can no longer be purchased from Splinterlands.com, but may be available on the secondary markets at Hive-Engine (Hive blockchain) and Atomic Hub (WAX blockchain).

In the primary land sale, Praetorian property was sold as claims, since the infrastructure that will allow migration and settlement are not yet in place. These claims are tokenized and transferable between accounts. Claims that a player owns are found in the non-card inventory by clicking the backpack icon in the top right corner of the CARDS tab.

Types of Claims

Plots - A Plot is the basic unit of Splinterlands land. In all of Praetoria, a total of only 150,000 plots will be sold to players. These plots do not make up the entirety of the continent, but only the player-owned portions. There will also be a mix of non-player-owned land that is controlled by the game.

Tracts - A Tract Claim is a unit of 100 total Plots. Every Tract is guaranteed to contain 1 Plot with a Keep.

Regions - A Region Claim is a unit of 1000 Plots. Every Region is guaranteed to contain 1 Plot with a Castle and 9 Plots with Keeps.

Items and Spells

Items and spells will be new types of playable cards in the future of Splinterlands. Instead of a single round of drafting then submitting a team, there will then be a second round in which players have a chance to play items and spells to further affect the action of the battle.

Items and Spells are one of the main purposes and goals of the Splinterlands land expansion. Players will have the exclusive ability to produce Items and Spells, meaning that they will not be officially sold by Splinterlands from a supply. Players will have to rely upon the resources and crafting of their own land, and on the secondary Item and Spell markets managed by other players.

It's a spectacular price and a milestone for the game. It is not very useful yet but if you develop it well it can be incredible.

Funny how everyone was vouchers, vouchers, vouchers for weeks until last night. Then this one sale happens and now everyone is Land, Land, Land! Personally, I've been chomping at the bit for Land to get implemented since last Christmas. It can't come soon enough. But in the meantime, you got any vouchers you want to sell? ;)

Those in the discord Maverick channel who hold a Region said they won't sell there's for any less then One Million USD. Someone crunched the numbers of how many airdropped SPS a region gives and it was allot. Add that to the resources the land will produce and a Regions worth starts to add up fast. Its crazy to say but in todays market that $700,000 USD price tag might be a steal of a deal.

Vouchers you say, what are those :P

I was reading in the Mav channel last night the comparison of a Track = 1 BTC. Which at the time was quite surprising to me. But after stopping and thinking about it, that's the going price for now (actually a little under going price). It will be really interesting to how Land appreciates in value in the next few months as the expected BTC mooning materializes.

I felt the same way. Those GFL that are listed for $20,000 to $100,000 don't seem so out of touch with reality anymore.

!BRO this post couldn't have dropped at a better time!

I've decided to experiment with the traditional financial system and put together a package to ask for a loan so I don't have to cash out anything else until after the airdrop ends.

That headline is going to get a mother fuckers attention!

He may not just throw me a handful of money because of it, but I'm gonna get to have a long talk with a banker tomorrow and show him in detail the reason I'm the safest bet he has left in his career and so many reasons why he needs to catch the fuck up if he wants his retirement plan to stay on track.

Interesting, its very possible you double that loan value in a short period of time (Not financial advice). With everything there is risk but man, Splinterlands does feel like the safest bet one can make at current time.

I got most everything I have tied up in assets but I'm trying to brainstorm ways to get my hands on more SPS / airdrop points. I been trying to avoid pools but looks like I'll be headed swimming.

Good luck with your loan. I'd be interested in hearing about what the loan shark has to say about your plans.

Me too! I'm actually almost as excited to see the look on his face as I am about getting my hands on cash I don't have to sacrifice a dragon's hoard for. :p

Edit to say, as I was preparing my presentation I realized I think I'm mostly excited to get to brag about this year to someone who wants to hear it, lol.

In fact, I might write up a post recommending it, whether you want to take out a loan in the end or not. At least sit down and write up a presentation as if you were looking for one.

It's exhilarating breaking the stuff down and seeing up close how deep in this we are.

Lol. We’ll see. I bet he doesn’t even know what he’s looking at outside of $2.5t market.

If they bought the region during the first batch of sales, the person who sold probably made close to a 100x return on their investment. I keep talking myself out of buying a plot when the land sales were going on...so I guess I have no one to blame but myself for not buying in.

I completly missed presale land and got back to when there wasn't many plots left for sale. I was salty about missing the presale and procrasination caused me to miss out on the last plots available for sale. Life gives us a swift kick in the rear sometimes. I'm debating picking one up on the secondary market. They go for 500-$600+ USD currently.

I’m in the same boat as you. I guess I could burn my legendary gold foil and buy one with the DEC. It’s tough to pull the trigger when you’re emotionally attached to an airdrop that reminds you how much you love it every morning.

You do not need to put #peakd as a topic-tag ... there is no real benefit and the post is not about PeakD.com so there really isn't a reason to. We are likely the only account to search for posts with the topic tag #peakd so it really doesn't benefit you much. We suggest you use that space for another topic tag that will help your post more and is more related to the topic of your post.

If you talk about peakmonsters.com then we suggest using #peakmonsters

I hope this has been a helpful educative comment.

Oh my, land would be so great, but I struggle to finally get to silver (not ranking but deck-power).
It will be very interesting to see, how new players without land can catch up to veterans/landowners only by playing hard and consistantly. I see a future of implementing only stuff for veterans, where the majority of new players fomo in and then get burnt out quickly when they realize, they can't compete, unless they invest a shitload of money.
I love this game and intend to invest a lot of money in it, but that is not your average young gamer, who has skill and a genuine interest in this incredible game.
I hope the devs consider a more newbie-friendly approach in the future, because Chaos Legion is the opposite in my opinion.

I can see how someone would take that view. The cost of Boosters went up significantly due to needing vouchers on top of the $4 to purchase one. I know this might sound crazy but that change was to protect the card supply from being in the hands of only whales. This game is getting popular with outside investors looking into it. If it was a free for all a real possible outcome would be a few whales buying up the majority of the packs then selling them for a premium on the secondary market.

That is a good point. I never thought of that, actually. Than active players have definitely have an advantage.
