2.5 Million DEC stacked, now what's next...?

So another DEC milestone reached and this time I actually almost saw it tip over in real time.....

Just thanks to my card and SPS rentals ticking over, which is nice!

Happy with my DEC target for now...

So I estimate I'd need about 3.2 Million DEC to stake my current card collection to land, and given that I'll keep some of those rented out, 2.5M is pretty much what I'll need to stake all of my lower renting cards.

I'm still all about land BTW, but there are other options....

Options....

  1. Buy Rebelliion packs
  2. Pool DEC with SPS/ HIVE etc.
  3. Buy SPS
  4. Buy Riftwatchers cards
  5. Buy chaos gold cards for land, YET MORE of them!
  6. I could also swap DEC for SPS
  7. Just sell DEC for something else - skim!
  8. Just HOLD more DEC!

Of all of these 4, 5, and 8 are the options I'm going for mainly for.

Rational.... considering the potential price movements of SL assets...

DEC and SPS

Of all the assets within SL I think DEC is going to be the most stable.

I don't expect DEC to go up in value for many months, if not a year or more.

Sure land will soak up maybe a billion or two, and the DAO will take a lot, and it's useful to have, but I imagine it'll probably sit at $0.90 for the next year or so, if there's not a bull market - all of that DEC going to DAO is going to be sold don't forget!

I don't expect the SPS fly wheel to life the SPS price much, and I don't want more SPS - it's pointless. A handful of whales determine governance although SPS does have a reasonable return. It could easily go below $0.01 and stay there for months or years.

So holding DEC rather than pooling it I think is a good way to go.

I may sell some SPS for Hive and pool some DEC with Hive, maybe. I have a little in there and the SPS:DEC pool, but less than 10% of the 2.5M I'm just holding.

Cards, I do want some good cards!

I'm defo not going below 2.5M DEC but I am going to carry on stacking a mixture of the better Rift cards for renting and gold chaos cards for renting and land.

However I'm not going to buy too hard, card prices are down over the last weeks, DOWN A LOT! So until that levels off, I'm holding DEC and stacking it!

Eventually I'll start buying again.

I'm not going to buy any Rebellion packs, I have enough cards and I don't play.

I figure SL needs a bull market to moon and if that happens, well everything will moon, it's not going to be Rebellion specifically, and I'd rather buy when they cost 50% less in 8 months than doing it now!

But so far I'm happy with my 2.5 Mill, hell I might even hold off doing the card stacking until I've got 2.6 Mill!

I'm in no rush, slow and steady!

good choice, i only got 1.2M for now, still deciding what to do next. rebellion packs looks good, yet, land may need a lot of resources to be optimal.

It's difficult to hold, but for me I think it's best ATM!

Think I'm gonna just sit and try and get to 2.6 Mill!

Awesome holding strategy you got it's always hard to choose which to hold or sell long term in splinterland more wins with the stacking.

Yh I know what you mean, I think gradually letting the DEC sneak upwards and snaffling up a few more cards going forwards.

Packs are my worst investment! Done with buying those!

It's good that people still believe in this project and people are stacking it, we will see its price go up in the near future when demand is high.

That's a nice amount of DEC.

I sold the majority of mine as I decided to not participate in Rebellion just yet, possibly not at all. We will see what the up coming months bring. If market conditions change I might jump in and hoard some packs. I still have a few thousand of CHAOS packs.

I also sat Rebellion out, maybe I should have sold all the DEC I'm holding for land, it did hit $0.0097 I'm sure it's going back down to below $0..085,

But just in case it's safter to hold!

Hey, I hope you don't me popping in here with a relatively unrelated question: It's about renting out Splinterland cards on Splex.

I remember a long time ago you wrote a post about it. I found the idea enticing, but didn't feel like sharing my keys, so I didn't bother. Now that I created a second account @emperornorton I thought it was time to visit Splex.

I transferred my cards, and even a good chunk of 13K DEC to my second account, then I went through the process of getting whitelisted and offered my cards up for rent at the recommended rates. Since then more than a week has passed, and not one single card has been rented. Is there something else I should have done? Are mid-level beta cards not sought any more? Is Splex even working still?

If you have any ideas or suggestions, I'd really appreciate them. 😁

Cheers,

I used Splinterrents not Splex

Not sure if they're the same, it's a bot that runs the rentals. Works just fine, but you have to set the bot up first!

Aha, so I had it wrong all this time. But hey, since Splex doesn't seem to do the trick, I may as well switch to Splinterrents.

Thanks for the info!

Splinterrents are good!

It sure looks good: Most of all, because they never once asked for any of my keys. Not sure how they are doing it, but now my cards are being rented nicely. And I can even follow them on Splex and PeakMonsters, so the only reason to visit the Splinterrents Discord is to pay my fee once a week.
