Byzantine Kitty: A Great Choice for Monsters Lose all Abilities...

The price of Byzantine Kitty alone is enough to suggest she's one of the better summoners, and she really comes into her own in the 'monsters lose all abilities' rule set.

The key thing to remember with this ruleset is that while monsters lose all abilities, summoners don't, so picking the right summoner, such as Kitty can give you a massive advantage.

And in this ruleset in particular, plus two speed and tank heal in particular nearly always prove to be worth the seven mana cost...

Especially in larger mana battles where you can spare the mana for a big health card up front, it's unlikely your opponent is going to do sufficient damage in the first round before you get at least one heal in, especially if you but a soak card in the first row like the Chicken to soak up the first damage point(s).

Here's a great battle exemplar where Kitty worked wonders in this ruleset:

  • mana
  • ruleset

Summoner - Kitty - for the speed and heal!

  • Chicken - to soak up hit one
  • Robo Dragon Knight - mainly for the massive health, also shields.
  • Fungus Fiend - maybe could have been in P2!
  • Goblin Psychic - damage 1
  • Sporcerer - damage 2
  • Khmer Princess - damage 3.

The Battle...

  • Round 1 - obviously my chicken goes down, but I also take out my opponent's monk
  • Round 2 - Heal one on the RDK, I take out my opponent's bruiser
  • Round 3 - Heal two on the RDK, I take out my opponent's elven defender
  • Round 4 - Heal three on the RDK, I take out my opponent's scavo
  • Round 5 - Heal four on the RDK, I take out everything else and it's all over!

Battle Analysis...

Can you spot the pattern...?

It's just a matter of shields holding off half the heavier fire power of the early attacks, and by the time the shields are gone, there's insufficient damage to take out the RDK with the healing - high health means higher healing per round don't forget!

Final thoughts...

If you can afford it then buy a Kitty!

I would love to get a kitty whenever I start playing Splinterland. The healing ability would make it a must-use for more battle wins.

This game seems a lot of fun; I will do further research on it by watching some videos about it online and then may be perhaps even go on to play it.

The way we're seeing the team giving out a lot of cool updates now is the way building has been for a while now, so we'll see more of this in the near future. Burning events are always good for projects.
