➡️ "The encounter" 🧜🏻‍♀️VS 🪨

This week I was delighted with this illustration, I find it quite different from what I usually do and a little more dynamic perspective.

The character I wanted to highlight was Terraceus, I chose a rather high and imposing point of view and underneath the mermaid Kye watching the giant rock.

It will be an epic confrontation of nature and magic.

Who do you think would win this battle? 🤔 🤔

mermaids are not to be underestimated. They are quite deceptive with their charm. Definitely an interesting battle 😸.

I leave you with my process, it took me 1 day to do it the truth is that I had no complications in doing it everything flowed pretty well ❤️😌

Esta semana quede encantada con esta ilustración, me parece bastante diferente a lo que suelo hacer y de una perspectiva un poco mas dinámica.

El personaje que quería destacar era a Terraceus, escogí un punto de vista bastante alto e imponente y debajo a la sirena Kye observando a la roca gigante.

Sera un enfrentamiento épico de la naturaleza y magia.

¿Ustedes quien creen que ganaría esta batalla? 🤔

no hay que subestimar a las sirenas. Son bastante engañosas con su encanto. Sin duda una batalla interesante 😸

Los dejo con mi proceso, tarde 1 día en hacerlo la verdad es que no tuve complicaciones al hacerlo todo fluyo bastante bien ❤️😌

Fase 1

Boceto // sketching

Comencé con una idea inicial con esta perspectiva, lo que quería destacar en la composición. Y mis dos referencias de los personajes para guiarme fácilmente.

I started with an initial idea with this perspective, what I wanted to highlight in the composition. And my two character references to guide me easily.

Fase 2

Color
Aquí ya comencé tomando el color de los personajes y el ambiente que quería para la ilustración, poco a poco fui haciendo cambios graduales en la composición como en la posición de las nubes, la posible iluminación y algunos colores para hacer los contrastes.
luego emarcando con un color mucho mas oscuro que el color base, los bordes de la roca.

Phase 2

Color
Here I started taking the color of the characters and the environment I wanted for the illustration, little by little I was making gradual changes in the composition as in the position of the clouds, the possible lighting and some colors to make the contrasts.
Then I marked with a much darker color than the base color, the edges of the rock.

Fase 3 y 4

Iluminación y Sombras

Aquí ya comencé a colocar todas las luces y sombras y detallar mas el entorno, como el agua, el cielo, la roca y la sirena. Y brillos que salen del pecho de la roca.

Lighting and Shadows

Here I started to place all the lights and shadows and to detail more the environment, like the water, the sky, the rock and the mermaid. And glows coming out of the rock's chest.

º Blending y detalles

Luego ir mezclando los colores de manera uniforme para
Ir corrigiendo y suavizar los bordes mas duros del Lineart. Y algunas correcciones de color.

Then blend the colors evenly to correct and smooth the hard edges of the lineart.
