Yesterday? Or maybe the day before? Early in the morning, AURENDRAK dropped to around 3,500 DEC. I was wondering, "Is this the time to buy?!" but while I was hesitating, those cheap copies were gone.
Even after that, there were still several copies listed around 4,000–5,000 DEC...
But look at it now.
I've wanted this card for a while. I was planning to buy it if the price dropped, but when it suddenly crashed, I started wondering if there was some reason for it.
And while I was thinking about it...
This happened.
I'm so disappointed. 😭
They say "Grasp Fortune by the forelock." In other words, when you spot a chance to buy something cheaply, you have to be ready to pull the trigger immediately.
I guess I need to set my own target prices in advance and keep enough DEC ready so I can buy the moment an opportunity comes along.
I don't currently own a Dragon Summoner, so I was hoping to use this as a substitute.
If I had bought three copies for 4,000 DEC each, I could have used it at Intermediate level for just 12,000 DEC...
That was a really painful mistake.
Anyway, about AURENDRAK.
I think it was only last month, on the 21st, that AURENDRAK became available from the Fortune Wheel in Frontier.
Apparently, a total of eight cards were released: one unit for each element, plus one Dragon Summoner.
Since their prices have dropped quite a bit, I imagine there are plenty of people considering buying them now.
I wonder which ones are the strongest?
I picked out my three personal favorites.

Let's start with number three.
BUNS THE UNSEEN is a fantastic tank.
The biggest advantage is how incredibly strong it is against magic attackers. With Void Shield and Silent, it has a ton of durability.
Magic-heavy Water teams are strong in Frontier, so I think this one unit could survive against them surprisingly well!
And it's a Neutral card, so you can use it with any element.
Awesome!
...But there is a catch.
Void Shield isn't unlocked until Level 2, and Silent doesn't appear until Level 4. So if you want the card to really show its potential, you'll need at least Level 2.
That means collecting 10 copies...
That's going to be a pain.
Next up, number two.
JOLIUS BLAST is a great Fire tank.
And what's so good about it?
Even at Level 1, it already has Void Shield and a massive 12 Health.
Its mana cost is also ridiculously high at 13, but in high-mana battles, I think this thing could really shine.
At Level 2, it gains Enrage, and at Level 4, it gets Retaliate, making it an even better tank.
I'd definitely like to level it up if I can, but even at Level 1, it's already a very solid card.
I'd love to have at least one copy.
And number one is...
Of course, it's AURENDRAK.
What's so powerful about it?
The ability to grant Void to other units!
For example, you could give Void to DREAD TAFARIAN, which already has Heal.
That could be pretty nasty.
I'd like to get AURENDRAK to Level 2 if possible.
I just hope a huge number of copies get released and the price drops again...
Maybe then I'll finally get my chance.
And as a bonus, owning this card also lets you use VAELOK.
VAELOK becomes incredibly strong at Level 4 once it gains Life Leech, but getting it all the way there is a lot of work.
The price per copy is cheap, but you need 25 copies for that level...
Wait.
At the current price, that's already over 20,000 DEC!?
I feel like this card could even see some play in Modern, but there's one major problem.
You need a Dragon Summoner to use it.
So, in the end, it's basically a package deal with AURENDRAK.
And the other Dragon Summoners are more expensive than AURENDRAK anyway.

It looks like it would be incredibly strong paired with NIDHOGGR, though.
Anyway, back to the main topic.
I feel like all three of these cards could see some play in Modern as well.
Their mana costs are generally pretty high, so the situations where you can use them may be limited.
But their abilities are definitely good.
Especially AURENDRAK.
I'd love for it to become an affordable option for players who need a Dragon Summoner.
The problem is that it's Legendary, so it's not exactly easy to get.
Still, if you spin the Fortune Wheel every day, maybe you'll get lucky someday.
So I need to make sure I don't forget to spin it!

このカード、欲しかったんだよね。値下がりしたら買おうと思ってたんだけど、一気に下がったから何かあるのか？って悩んでたらこんな状態になってしまってショック。
"幸運の女神に後ろ髪は無い"っていうけど、安く買えるチャンスを見つけたら即購入できるように自分の中で基準価格を決めて資金も用意しておくようにしないと駄目だね。
私は今、Dragon のサモナーを持っていないので代用に欲しかったんだよね。1枚当たり 4,000で買えれば、12,000 も払えば Intermediate レベルで使えたのに...本当に痛いミス。
ところでこの AURENDRAK ですが、Frontier の Fortune Wheel で当たるようになったのがつい先月の21日だったかな？各エレメントでユニットが1枚ずつと Dragon のサモナーが1枚で合計8枚のカードがリリースされたみたいですがかなり値段が下がったので購入を考えている人も多いかも？どれが強いんでしょうね。
私が個人的に欲しいカード3枚を考えてみました。

まずは3位のカード。
BUNS THE UNSEEN はとても優秀なタンクですね。なんといっても魔法アタッカーにめちゃくちゃ強い。Void Shield と Silent を持っているのでかなりの耐久力です。フロンティアモードではWaterの魔法が強いですが、このユニット一枚でかなり耐えれそうですね！
しかも Neutral のカードなのでどの属性でも使用可能！ステキ！なんだけど、欠点もあります。Void Shield はレベル2、Silent はレベル4からなので本領を発揮してほしいなら最低レベル2ですね。10枚集めるのが大変...
続いて2位のカード
JOLIUS BLAST はFire のナイスタンクです。何が素晴らしいかというとレベル1の状態でも Void Shield を持っていて Health が12もあること。マナコストも13とめちゃくちゃ高いですが、高コスト戦であれば活躍できると思いますね。
さらに、レベル2で Enrage、レベル4で Retaliate とタンク役として優秀なアビリティが追加されます。可能であればレベルを上げてあげたいんだけど、レベル1でもかなり優秀なので1枚持っておきたいところ。
そして1位は。
もちろん AURENDRAK です。何が強いってVoid アビリティの付与ですよ。例えば Heal もちの DREAD TAFARIAN にVoid を付与するとかね。
このカードは可能であればレベル2で揃えておきたい。また大量に排出されて値段が下がってくれたりしないかなぁ...
あとはこのカードを使えばおまけとして VAELOK も使用できますね。
VAELOK はレベル4でLife Leech も覚えてめっちゃ強いんだけど、さすがにそこまで上げるのは大変。1枚当たりの単価は安いんだけど、25枚買うと...うわ、今だと2万超える！？
このカードはモダンでも活躍出来そうな気がするんだけど、前提としてドラゴンサモナーを持っている必要があるので結局 AURENDRAK とセットだね。他のドラゴンサモナーは AURENDRAK より高いしね。🥲
NIDHOGGR と組み合わせたらめっちゃ強そうなんだけどねー
閑話休題
これらの3枚はモダン環境でも使えそうな気がします。全体的にマナコストが高いので使いどころは限られそうな気がしますが、能力的には良いものを持ってるんですよね。
特に AURENDRAK はお安く手に入るドラゴンサモナーとしての役割を持ってくれるとありがたいんだけど。レアリティが Legendary なので簡単に手に入らなさそうなのがつらいところ。
でも、毎日 Fortune Wheel を回していればいつかは当たるかもしれない。そう思って忘れないように回さなきゃ！ところでこれ、GFも出るんですかね？
