I am extremely depressed : LAND 1.5 delayed

The recent days seemed to build toward an eagerly anticipated climax, akin to a child's excitement before the holidays. There was a blend of hope, expectation, and a touch of nerve-wracking concern about the unveiling of the game's most extensive expansion yet—a project I've dedicated over two and a half years to. It felt like the pinnacle of our efforts was finally within reach... or so we thought. That illusion shattered earlier today when we discovered that yet another setback had delayed its release. The audacity! SPLINTERLANDS HAS TURNED MY WORLD UPSIDE DOWN!!!!

That's the sentiment echoing in the Discord chat from some friends today. But for me, it's just another hurdle on this journey. We're all trailblazing together into uncharted territory here. None of this even exists elsewhere! We're pioneers, embarking on a fresh path. While the excitement is palpable, we must acknowledge that obstacles are inevitable.

With millions circulating through our ecosystem, shouldn't safety be a top priority?! Some reactions from a core group today seemed absurdly entitled. We were informed about potential exploits, and the team wanted to ensure no vulnerabilities before launching this colossal expansion—a project five-plus years in the making.

Yet, I'm content. In fact, I'm more than content. I'm genuinely relieved by the level of consideration and care being invested. I'd hate to see someone exploit a weak point and ruin what we've been waiting for for three years. What's a few more weeks at this point, really?

Nonetheless, I can't deny my disappointment. I've spent countless hours in recent weeks and months, perfecting my plans for the looming date. I've put my rentals on hold, missing out on potential DEC earnings to get more plots up and running. I've even reclaimed all my Runi from other accounts too early, unwilling to invest more Eth to reassign yet again for this, hopefully, brief delay.

Despite the disappointment, I acknowledge the team's hard work in crafting a truly magical experience. I'm grateful for the updates and insights team has shared. His meticulous work behind the scenes, despite the setbacks, has allowed us to witness the process of creating something extraordinary with each update. By the way, if you own land and haven't tested how things look and feel, ask for access on Discord. Seeing our proximity to launch might ease concerns for the constant naysayers.

It doesn't mean I think everything's perfect. If I could suggest something to the team, it would be to abstain from setting a date until they're 99.9% sure it's realistic. Our community, though beloved, tends to spiral when faced with delays. It turns us against each other, portraying us as amateurs. Simply put, don't give dates until it's certain. We've misbehaved, and until we learn to cope, we should forfeit the privilege of even vague timelines. Hopefully, @splinterlands and the community can learn to manage information more productively in the future.

To anyone frustrated by the delay reading this, I empathize. But take a breath. Relax. Find solace in something. Don't add constant toxicity to the community and project whenever the blocks take longer to build. As Yaba mentioned on Town Square earlier, a few more weeks in the grand scheme of things is inconsequential.

Land will be an ever-evolving platform. It will grant players unique privileges and perks found nowhere else in this realm, and I'm ecstatic to be part of it. We're early adopters, witnessing creative innovations unfold before our eyes. Embrace the occasional hiccups that come with these developments. Accepting this reality in this space is crucial for our happiness, rather than... well, the alternative.

I'll share my plans for the upcoming weeks before our hopeful second attempt. I'll continue accumulating more DEC to stake to plots, my primary holdup at the moment. I aim to secure a few more totems for all my Mythics, Occupied, Magical, and Legendaries. I'll trade a few cards with some of you to leverage the PP bonuses. This lull before the storm means I'll be able to have more plots up and running at launch. That, in my book, is a personal triumph.
