[EN/FR] Do not repeat my Splinterlands rookie mistakes

Hi Splinterlords,

Today I came across this reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/Splinterlands/comments/y8pp5x/how_much_does_silver_cost/ and I felt that it was indeed a good question, as Splinterlands game is rich and there are many things I wish I knew when I started!

Indeed, I did very common mistakes and I would like to share my experience and help the new players!

My first double mistake was to buy packs with credits (Untamed back then, damn time flies!).
Now I don't regret my investment at all because the cards I drew became quite expensive, but back then my goal was not to invest but simply play and it was not very efficient 😆

So first tip:

Play modern

The rewards are a bit higher than in wild as it is less crowded, and with fewer cards it is easier to understand the meta and learn how to counter your (bot) opponent .

Buy cards from the market

It takes a bit of understanding of the meta to know what are the good combo, but it is a learning step that will help you a lot!
Take the time to learn what are the cards or your meta, their skills and how they can combo and the path to victory will unroll itself under your feet!

In a first time, aim for Bronze II (so 500CP)

It is the minimum to earn SPS rewards and Bronze I only offers a QoL (you restart higher at the beginning of a new season).
There is a sweet spot around 900-1000 rating (the battle ranking points) where you earn more than in Silver III.
It is counterintuitive but it is a consequence of the separation of reward pools per league.

Buy packs on secondary markets like Tribaldex on Hive Engine

The packs will cost you around USD2 against USD4 if you buy them in-game with credits.
It requires more work but 50% off on packs worth the trouble imho!

Engage in Hive blogging

Once you bought a Summoner Spellbook, you can claim your Hive keys in the profile section of Splinterlands. These keys will allow you to engage in Hive blogging and you will even be rewarded for it! There are plenty of inspiring content to read, even the official communication of Splinterlands is posted here. You can even participate in giveaways and win cards! I think that is the biggest advice I missed back then.

The other points are less important, but you can get around 1000 CP/$ if you buy the most CP/$ efficient cards but they are not very helpful in battle. These are generally, the rare reward cards.

If you can get yourself some DEC (through hive-engine for example) you can rent the strong cards to see if you like them before buying them.

Accumulate the cards and eventually you will be in position to rent them for DEC!

Aujourd'hui je suis tombé sur ce fil https://www.reddit.com/r/Splinterlands/comments/y8pp5x/how_much_does_silver_cost/ et j'ai pensé que c'était en effet une bonne question, car le jeu Splinterlands est riche et il y a beaucoup de choses que j'aurais aimé savoir en commençant !
En effet, j'ai fait des erreurs très communes et j'aimerais partager mon expérience et aider les nouveaux joueurs.

Ma première (double) erreur a été d'acheter des packs avec des crédits (Untamed à l'époque, le temps passe vite !).
Maintenant, je ne regrette pas du tout mon investissement car les cartes que j'ai eue sont devenues assez prisées, mais à l'époque, mon but n'était pas d'investir mais simplement de jouer et ce n'était pas très efficace 😆.

Donc premier conseil :

Jouer en "Modern"

Les récompenses sont un peu plus élevées qu'en WILD car il y a moins de monde. De plus, avec moins de cartes, il est plus facile de comprendre la méta et d'apprendre à contrer votre adversaire (qui sont souvent des bots malheureusement) .

Acheter des cartes sur le marché à l'unité

Il faut une bonne compréhension du jeu pour savoir quelles sont les bonnes cartes et quels sont les bons combos, mais c'est une étape d'apprentissage qui vous aidera beaucoup !
Prenez le temps d'apprendre quelles sont les cartes de votre méta, leurs compétences et comment elles peuvent se combiner et le chemin de la victoire se déroulera sous vos pieds !

Dans un premier temps, visez le Bronze II (soit 500CP).

C'est le minimum pour obtenir des récompenses (SPS) et le Bronze I n'offre qu'un petit avantage (vous redémarrez à un niveau supérieur au début d'une nouvelle saison).
Il y a un point idéal autour de 900-1000 points de "rating" (les points de classement de combat) où vous gagnez plus qu'en Silver III.
C'est contre-intuitif mais c'est une conséquence de la séparation des pools de récompenses en fonction des ligues.

Achetez des packs sur les marchés secondaires comme Tribaldex sur Hive Engine.

Les packs vous coûteront environ 2 USD contre 4 USD si vous les achetez en jeu avec des crédits.
Cela demande plus de travail mais 50% de réduction sur les packs, ça en vaut la peine !

Participez au blogging sur Hive

Une fois que vous avez acheté summoner spellbook, vous pouvez réclamer vos clés Hive dans la section profil de Splinterlands. Ces clés vous permettront de prendre part aux discussions sur Hive et vous serez même récompensé pour cela ! Il y a beaucoup de contenus inspirants à lire, même la communication officielle de Splinterlands est publiée ici. Vous pouvez également participer à des concours et gagner des cartes ! Je pense que c'est le plus gros conseil que j'aurais aimé avoir à l'époque.

Les autres points sont moins importants, mais vous pouvez obtenir environ 1000 CP/$ si vous achetez les cartes les plus efficaces en termes de CP/$. Par contre, elles ne sont pas très utiles en combat... Ce sont généralement, les cartes de "reward" rares.

Si vous pouvez vous procurer des DEC (grâce au hive engine par exemple), vous pourrez louer des cartes et les essayer avant de les acheter.

NE cessez jamais d'accumulez les cartes et éventuellement vous serez en mesure de les mettre en location et obtenir un revenue passif en DEC !
