Why I Believe In BTC
I’m a Bitcoin Maxi but it was never about the tech, whatever that means. We all invest in things that we think will appreciate in value. But the reason I’m so passionate about Bitcoin now is that I realize the current system is broken. The corruption of money is the root of many problems we see in the world. Having a truly decentralized world currency with a known issuance rate and hard cap is one giant step in the right direction. And in my opinion, Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency that has a real shot at becoming the future world reserve currency after all the fiat falls. There are several reasons for this but being the biggest, oldest and only one without a pre-mine founding organization gives it huge advantage over anything that came after it.
Sure you can use a custodian. There will always exist exchanges to buy/sell. But the whole point of Bitcoin is and always has been to allow for self sovereignty through self custody. With everything there are risks and tradeoffs. To touch on Ledger: Do not update your ledger to enable Ledger Recover.
A spot Bitcoin ETF approval makes me bullish on the asset as it allows for more institutional investment. ETF is just a natural progression of the asset as it becomes more mainstream. It has both positive and negative implications but at the end of the day Bitcoin doesn’t care.
So in my opinion everyone should have Bitcoin exposure even if through an ETF only.
