Splinterlands - DAO-Proposal: Remove the Reward Reducting for brawl-tiers with less than 10 guilds participating AND remove the bonus for the top 3 guilds in a brawl.

The following proposal is a result of a fruitful discussion with @davemccoy.

The suggestion is:

Remove the Reward Reducting for brawl-tiers with less than 10 guilds participating AND remove the bonus for the top 3 guilds in a brawl.

Why we suggest this ?

The first part of this proposal to remove the reward reduction factor will help ALL guilds, because currently the 6 guilds that played left Tier 5 and instead take the top places in Tier 4. If these 6 guilds went back to Tier 5, other guilds would take these places in Tier 4. In addition, guilds, e.g. Peakmonsters Champ, went from Tier 4 to Tier 3. When the 6 guilds from Tier 4 went back to Tier 5, I think these are going back to Tier 4 and it will also help other guilds in Tier 3, etc. I believe this change will help all guilds, not just the top guilds.

While at the beginning it made sense to introduce a limit for (especially) Tier 5 so that the first guild that arrived there couldn't gain an immense amount of SPS, this is no longer necessary because there was enough time for the top guilds to bring their arena to level 9.

The second part adress the problem, that top-3-guild players get so many more merrits and can buy with them so many more Glad packs because of this bonus (read more about the bonus with two examples at the end).

That's why people play at lower level than they should because in order to even think about getting the most cards its better to be in a tier lower. Some guilds stay for example in Tier 3 because they make MORE glad packs by doing so and its the only way they can even hope to keep up with the top few guilds.

@davemccoy and I think, that sometimes its much better to bundle several concepts together in order to reach a compromise. If we don't bundle them, then it will make it harder to solve the problem and get a majority in the Proposal-voting.

Examples about the top-3-bonus in the old form (15%/10%/5%) and after the last change (6%/4%/2%):

Let's start with the old bonus:

15% / 10% / 5%

If their will be close run at the end from first till fourth place in the worst case even with same points from place 1-4 what will be the rewards ?

Let's say it will be 10 guilds, so 70% is shared between the 10 guilds (according to their points), so let's say the first four guilds will get as they have the same points all 8%, so the result will be:

1st place: 8% from the pot+ 15% bonus = 23% of the pot.
2nd place: 8% from the pot + 10% bonus = 18% of the pot.
3rd place: 8% from the pot + 5% bonus = 13% from the pot.
4th place: 8% form the pot - no bonus = 8% from the pot.

Than the new system:

6% / 4% / 2%

Let's say it will be 10 guilds, so 88% is shared between the 10 guilds (according to their points), so let's say the first four guilds will get as they have the same points all 10%, so the result will be:

1st place: 10% from the pot+ 6% bonus = 16% of the pot.
2nd place: 10% from the pot + 4% bonus = 14% of the pot.
3rd place: 10% from the pot + 2% bonus = 12% from the pot.
4th place: 10% form the pot - no bonus = 10% from the pot.

So now the first place get not nearly three times more like in the old system (compared with the 4th place) but a bonus from 60% (16% against 10%) is still huge.

I showed it cause you can think what should be the complain about a bonus from 6%, I think propably not much player would complain about such a small bonus - but in reality the bonus can be very easy 60% like I showed above and this is really too much, so I really think we should take this bonus now away - the top-guilds will still earn more as they reach more points but this should be enough - IMO they don't need a additional bonus on top.

yes, so let's see if the stakeholder will like it, but I am optimistic.
Thanks for working together on a solution for all.
