October 2021 Earnings Recap - HIVE, PIZZA, SPT, ONEUP, and more!

I continued to grind away during the month of October to increase my rewards on the HIVE blockchain. This is a monthly summary post to outline my activities and earnings from various tokens on HIVE, like PIZZA, SPT, STARBITS, LEO, and author and curation rewards.

The primary activities I've been involved in include the @HIVE.PIZZA token project, @Splinterlands, and @RisingStarGame. Let's take a look at each one.

Blogging and Curation Rewards

Here on the main HIVE blogging chain, I have used HiveStats.io to look at my previous 30 days curation and author rewards for the posts I've published.

This month I received 90.04 HIVE Power, 0.13 HIVE, and 69.16 HBD from authorship and 10.40 HIVE Power from curation. At current exchange rates that comes to $146.45 USD, an increase of $52 over last month! My HIVE Power for the month of October was about 1100 and I benefitted from 700 HP delegations from @traciyork and @aliento for taking 2nd Place in the October #HIVEPUD contest.

But that's not all I earned from posting since I have received considerable rewards in the form of SPT tokens too! Let's add those up.

Splintertalk (SPT) Earnings

Total Authorship SPT earned from Splintertalk.io in October = 32,200 ($386 USD). It's difficult to go back and determine total curation rewards because the Splintertalk wallet doesn't populate more than a few days back at a time. However, I've been averaging about 70 SPT per day in curation rewards on the occasions I've reviewed the daily earnings. 70 x 30 days = 2,100 SPT in curation rewards for October.

At the start of October I had an SPT Power level of around 15,000, so this is a curation APR of approximately 168%. On November 1st I increased my SPT Power to 50,000 and look forward to maintaining an APR above 100% for my curation.

Adding together my authorship and curation SPT rewards and I received 34,300 SPT, worth about $411 USD, an increase of $100 over last month!

Adding the SPT earnings to the HIVE, HIVE Power, and HBD brings the total to: $557.45, an increase of $146.78 over last month.

Splinterlands

Splinterlands is an extremely addictive virtual card game on the HIVE blockchain and I've been getting more and more involved in it. I'm currently co-leader of [email protected] PIZZA 2 The Deep Dish guild and have been playing fairly well considering I rent most of my cards. Check out my latest #BrawlReport to see how fun this game is.

I previously mentioned that as of the September monthly summary, I had not invested any money besides the initial $10 Spellbook purchase into Splinterlands. That all changed in October when I noticed the extremely high rental prices being received around the end of the seasons for Gold Foil Legendary cards so that players can rank up their rewards. I located some great GF Legendary cards to purchase on Peakmonsters.com and in October those purchases brought in revenue of 10,080 DEC (after fees). Those DEC were worth $99.50 USD at the end of month exchange rate.

Only one of the cards was owned for nearly the whole month and the total earnings on that card was $45.69 and I spent $237.50 to purchase it on October 2nd. That is a nearly 20% return in the first month! Card prices have since gone up so the Return on Asset calculation is closer to 10% per month now, but that is still a fantastic rate of return! In addition, all this extra Combat Power has been increasing my SPS rewards in the airdrop too!

I spent a total of $1715 for five Gold Foil Legendary cards and expect to earn about 10% in November in the form of rental revenue. Those cards are now worth $2045 already if I were to sell them!

Excluding the value of the cards I purchased, my deck is worth $177 compared to $76 last month. That means the value of my deck has increased by $100 just from value appreciation and cards I have earned from daily quest and season reward chests. That's a 132% increase in card value!

SPS and VOUCHER

October 18th began the @Splinterlands VOUCHER airdrop and I received a total of 19.433 VOUCHER tokens in October. I decided to sell them each day as I received them to take advantage of the high initial price on the Hive-Engine market. The total HIVE received for these sales was 446.5, which was worth $348.75 USD at the time of the sales.

I also receive about 10 SPS per day in that airdrop. With SPS tokens trading at around $0.60 each, that's another $6 per day in earnings through October, or $180 for the month.

PIZZA Token

During my last monthly update, I reported having a little over 18,000 PIZZA tokens on hand. This level of token ownership has earned me the rank of Baron and because I am in the Top 10 list of owners, I receive a very generous weekly reward of between 6-10% bonus of my currently staked PIZZA holdings.

I now hold about 24,800 PIZZA tokens, an increase of 6,800 tokens in the past month. PIZZA has been the best earning HIVE investment I have made and continues to pay great weekly dividends! At the current price of PIZZA, these tokens are worth about $5,480, an increase of about $420 in value from last month!

Rising Star Game

This is another great HIVE blockchain game where the object is to create your own band and play music! I'm now level 35 and am working my way through the second zone of the map, Local Gig Circuit. I've been purchasing a opening about 3 new packs per week and getting some pretty cool cards. I currently have 48 cards and will continue building my collection as I progress through the game.

I have also been running a regular weekly Rising Star giveaway that has proved to be a great way to interact with the game community and earn extra author rewards!

OneUp

A new token this past month is OneUp. I have begun adding the #OneUp tag on my Splinterlands and Rising Star posts in order to earn these new gaming-related tokens. My first OneUp tagged post was on October 2nd, so I have almost a full month worth of earnings to report for this one.

Total authorship rewards in October were 979 OneUp tokens, which are worth about $42.50 USD. This is a completely new form of earnings for me and 100% supplementary to what I was already earning with SPT and isn't requiring me to do anything additional, other than add OneUp to my post tags.

October Recap

This month was amazing, with over $1,800 in HIVE-related earnings across all the above activities in October. My goal last month was to improve upon my $1,200 in HIVE earnings and it appears I succeeded in that!

I think it may be tough to beat $1,800 in November, but I'm going to give it a shot! I never thought I could make this much per month on HIVE and have only been actively pursuing this level of earnings for the past few months. It would be absolutely wonderful if this could become a steady stream of additional earnings long into the future! This is the way.
