Third Time's a Charm? - 750 DEC Quest Potion Purchase

Britney loves those quest potions!

As you may have seen, on an impulse I have been buying Quest Potions to try to get lucky with a legendary or gold foil chest in my daily rewards. My first attempt appeared to be profitable at first, but then the new reward cards values collapsed. My second attempt was also not at all lucrative and based on current card prices I am in the red there too.

Without further ado, here are the results of my third Quest Potion attempt:

Daily Quest Potion Rewards

Gargoya Devil: $0.80
3 Dark Energy Crystals: $0.01

I think I have gotten the bug out of my system and will no longer be spending 750 DEC on these Quest Potions. I might as well just burn cash!
Gargoya Lion: $0.19
Pelacor Bandit: $0.26
Pelacor Mercenary (2): $1.12 total

Total Value: $2.38

Cost of 750 DEC: $3.98

Difference: $-1.60

Well, this was certainly unprofitable. After looking at card prices for the ones I received in my quest reward chests the past two days and it appears they were all a loss. The massively higher quantity of the rewards cards that were minted has been decimating card values for the new series. It's unclear whether this will also lead to sustained depressed card values for the old series.


End of Season Rewards

While you're here, why don't we also take a look at my season ending rewards from yesterday:

Legendary Potion (3): $0.12
Alchemy Potion (2): $0.10
Pelacor Mercenary: $0.56
Venari Bonesmith: $1.07
50 DEC: $0.27

Total Value: $2.12

This was an especially disappointing outcome. I was in Bronze II with my normal power rating at the end of the season and so I rented cards to bring myself up to Silver III that I was eligible for. It cost over $10 in card rentals to get there and the payoff was $2.12. Perhaps the easy days of Splinterlands profits are gone? Or I'm just on another one of my unlucky streaks.

I need to get back into Pizza. It's been forever since I've taken a look but I'm playing splinterlands and rising star so I need to go get some.
