The Chaos Legionnaires are ruthless warriors and the Chaos Legion's elite fighting force. Alvar Veralyn was conscripted into their ranks at a young age after his family was slain and his world conquered by the Chaos Legion. The harsh conditioning that all conscripts receive nearly broke the child, but in the end, his old, easy way of life was subsumed by the desire for battle and conquest. Alvar dedicated himself to his training, intent on reshaping his mind and his body until he had no equal on the battlefield. Eventually, he rose to the rank of General and now stands as leader of the Chaos Legionnaires.

Alvar is a most imposing sight on the battlefield. His armor is imbued to withstand the strongest of magical attacks, and even the mightiest of foes is no match for his massive, two-handed sword, which some say was forged in the Realm of Nightmare. He lives for battle, wading through his enemies and striking them down as he seeks out the strongest among them to engage in single combat. He enjoys nothing more than watching the life fade from his opponent's eyes. His conquests are legendary even among the Legionnaires, and he earned the title of Godkiller after the Battle of Dargnilat, during which he single-handedly defeated one of the Old Gods.

Battle RulesetsDescriptionInfo
AIM TRUEMelee and Ranged attacks always hit their target.Blind, flying, and dodge are useless. This Ruleset doesn't give Ranged monsters the ability to attack from the first position. Choose higher speed or higher health combined with high damage output. Return Fire ability is great in this ruleset.
UP CLOSE & PERSONALOnly Monsters with Melee attack may be used in battles.Choose a summoner that increases/reduces Melee attack or Mylor. Keep a monster with Shield, Retaliate, or Thorns in the first position. Reach, Sneak, and Opportunity help in this ruleset.

Lineup

It was a high mana Up and Close game, so good place to the Legionnaire.

CardStrategy
Lux Vega - My max level natural summoner (unfortunately, I only rent it), but it is a good fit to this rulesets too.
Diemonshark - Good melee damage monster with good abilities in this game. The front was not the best position for him.
Arkemis the Bear - More I play this monster the more I like it. It has a big mana cost, but has a good life and good defensive abilities with halfling!
Legionnaire Alvar - Monster of the week. Even if void armor is not useful in this game, but the big armor is always a good stats against melee monsters.
Deeplurker - My favorite chaos common water monster, big attack with poison and opportunity.
Uraeus - The best natural reward card of the current print run. It has decent stats for the mana price.
Disintegrator - I put it him the backline because I hope some back attack from the retaliate skill.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

Unfortunately, not. It was a 50-50% game, but I had no luck this time.

If I put the Beer in the front position, my chance would be greater, he is a better tank than the shark:

Do you like regular foil LEGIONNAIRE ALVAR? Why or why not?

Yes, I like it. In some cases, he is definitely a good card. Natural cards are always specials because they can fit in almost every team.

Thanks for sharing! - @lenonmc21

Good post, although you could have put a little bit of context about how you thought at the time you lined up your cards.
