SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! LIFE SAPPER - Regular Foil

This post is an entry to the SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! LIFE SAPPER

Life sappers are in between life and death. One side of their body is ghostly while the other is alive and well. They are neither fully living nor dead. They feed off the energies around them, and simply being within view of a Life Sapper will make you feel sick and weak. They siphon energy from their victims, slowly weakening and sickening them while simultaneously healing themselves.

Overview

Life Sapper is a 3 mana magic monster. He has life leech ability, but only 2 health by default, so we need to save him before become strong. The key levels are 3 where he got +1 health, 5 where +1 damage/with health and 8.

Redeption8When this Monster dies, it does 1 damage to all enemy monsters. The damage dealt is Melee and follows normal rules of melee attacks.

Market prices

There were some price increases, but it is still a cheap card.

It is interesting that level 2 has better rent potential than level 1.

Battle RulesetsDescription
Explosive WeaponryAll Monsters have the Blast ability.
Keep Your DistanceMonsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles.

Explosive Weaponry info: The best strategy is to have fast monsters with Snipe, Sneak, or Opportunity. For defense, Shield and Void will come in handy.

Keep Your Distance info: Keep no attack or higher HP monsters in the front. Keep higher speed Magic monsters with abilities like Flying, Dodge, Blind in the front.

Lineup

It was low mana Keep your distance battle with blast. My main idea is that I have a cheap Death tank monster for this type of battle. So let's see how I manage this.

CardStrategy
Thaddius Brood - He is a generally good monster in this ruleset, because there is big chance that your enemy will use magic monsters. -1 Health is always a good deal in every game.
Shadowy Presence - My cheap main tank, one of the best in low mana Keep Your Distance games. 4 health for 1 mana is an excellent price / value ratio.
Venari Bonesmith - 4 mana version of the Life Sapper. It is a reward card that is in print now so you can get it very cheap. My main strategy was that the life leech keep my monsters live.
Life Sapper - Monster of the week. Weaker (but cheaper) version of the Venari Bonesmith. He was the other life leech monster for my strategy.
Xenith Archer - A cheap natural archer. He is a good fit in low mana games to fill the remaining spot.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

Yes, my strategy worked very well. I face a higher leveled cards team, but it was a clean victory. Thaddius deactivated enemy summoner and monsters so that was a perfect selection. My life leech team keep alive enough time so the enemy heal potential was not a problem. Maybe next time I can put a one more chicken into the team.

Do you like LIFE SAPPER? Why or why not?

I like life leech ability, in certain under certain circumstances it can create a very strong monster. But the life sapper, not an ideal card, most of the time too weak to survive enough time, Venari Bonesmith is a much more greater alternative.
