Punched in the D*ck by Success!! - Splinter Stats Season 55 Report Card

@sinistry

Well, surely I don't have to be the one to tell you this season was crazy! Growth is through the roof! Sales are through the roof! Market prices... yep... so many holes to patch before the next rain... it's likely one of the most awesome problems I've ever had! I hope all of you are fairing as well!

Before going on, I have a special announcement. This was the first complete season since I quit my job to focus on putting more into, and getting more out of, Hive and my time here, and this was a hell of a season to mark that milestone.

With the servers down most of the season I really only had the last 5 days to play hard enough to really make headway in the rankings. I feel like I did very well to claw back into Champion league at all, so I'll forego my typical gripes and complaints about not getting back into the top tier. I just feel lucky to be alive, so to speak. :P

Quick point of note, rewards this season, in conjunction with other planned subsidies, were still enough to sustain me as anticipated, so working for myself on Hive, while off to a rocky start, is showing even more promise than I had dared to hope for. I think this next year is going to big for us all.

But enough of all that nonsense... you're here for the numbers, so lets's get to it!

As stated above I'm extremely impressed with my performance this season. With almost no time to really work with I still managed to scratch back up to Champion 3 and that's awesome! Yay, me!

It's also worth pointing out that I don't remember the last time I had a season with more wins than losses. Maybe there's something to playing less... quality vs. quantity and all that... but I have a dragon to chase so all that's out the window. Put it straight into my veins, please!!

Dragons Leading the Charge!!

Is anyone surprised after my last Report Card to see that Byzantine Kitty and Selenia are in the top two spots? Who among us didn't see this coming? WHO, I ASK?? They haven't been paying attention, whoever they are, because we all know a dragon will be on top in my report. Always.

Also no surprise to see Alric, Chanceus, and Mimosa finishing off the top five, so no need to linger here, although I do think it might be odd to see Tyrus Paladium ahead of Pyre. I don't feel like I play Life as much as Fire, but I guess there's exceptions to everything...

I don't know about you, but I'm seeing a lot of low mana cards in my top 10. I'm also noticing they're mostly water or cards that I usually add to a water lineup. Save the Furious Chicken, which is always top played card, likely for everyone one who owns one, the following top five are my basic water lineup. Kelp Initiate, Crustacean King, Pirate Archer, and Serpentine Mystic are all almost guaranteed to show up if I play water. I find they work well together.

Also no surprise to see the remainder of the top ten lean heavily into Death, but it's obvious Water carried this season.

WOW!! The numbers are all over the place this time, but a few points of note that stand out to me are I got my ass ravaged and handed back in pieces in Unprotected, kicked (just one kind of) serious ass in Standard and stayed relatively mediocre in just about everything else. No real highs or lows this time. Again, it was just a really weird season.

Nothing special to report regarding cards. I won four Epic cards this season, but I don't recall anything that stands out as a big deal, any only one gold Common card to note so I think we can just slip right past this...

LOOT CHESTS on the other hand bore a little better fruit. Still nothing special, but it's nice to see I'm over 40k DEC in earning for the season again. I don't think that's happened for the last few of these I put out.

AIRDROP FEVER

I know we all have it but how can I not shout about it?!

This is the primary factor that allowed me to stop working and chase dreams here. I've been taking advantage of the x2 DEC multiplier by pairing it with Hive in the Tribaldex liquidity pool to get more of those sweet, sweet airdrop points and it seems to be working. I started the airdrop with around 1.8 million points and as of yesterday I was up to over 2.1 million. I think it's been a pretty big boost to my overall SPS earnings and I'm going to try to keep adding to the pool daily when I can, but at least once or twice a week.

While not pertinent to Splinterlands, or this season's Report Card I think it's noteworthy to point out that 3Spk will be dropping a mining token at a 1:1 ratio with Hive later this year (if my info is correct), so in addition to the DEC boost to SPS, I'm also filling a bag with Hive to take advantage of that when it launches. The whole point of that is to say I think that specific liquidity pool holds a lot of promise for those of us looking to maximize our holdings on this blockchain.

I usually don't post numbers related to money, but with everything that's happening in the space right now, and in my personal life that's directly impacted by it all I think it's appropriate to make an exception.

Total Earnings:
DEC (Gaming) $314.65 @ .00739
DEC (Rentals) $58.84
SPS (Airdrop and Staking) $2259.40
TOTAL: $2,632.89, This season.
That's more than double what I was making when working and this number only represents Splinterlands earnings, not all Hive earnings. This is why I think this is going to be a really great year!!

I hope you've all enjoyed this season's rants and ramblings! I know I have! See you next time!

If you found this entertaining, enlightening, or otherwise enjoyable, please consider upvoting and following. I need friends!

As someone who is also getting ready to stop working for others and start working for myself on Hive/Splinterlands, I'm very happy to see that it's all working out for you as well as it is. Could you tell me what the costs are associated with using Tribaldex for the DEC/Hive LP? Or if you have a link to a guide that would be a big help.

I haven't done the math because it seems so miniscule... and there are risks per se, in that you can lose DEC in price fluctuations, but since that loss in DEC is a gain in Hive I consider it a win either way, taking the upcoming 3Spk token drop into account. Then there's just price movement in general, of course...

Having said that, I'm happy to report that the liquidity pools are an amazing place to swap. Any time I'm presented with a fee that can be altered I can usually get it to go through for 0.1%.

So far that's proving true on smaller transactions (around $200 or less) for DEC, SPS, Hive, and LTC swaps, so the cost of swapping stuff around to get it into the pools is more or less negligible, and I don't think there is a fee for adding liquidity.

Regarding a guide to add liquidity, I don't know of one but it's all pretty straight forward.

Go to tribaldex.com
pools/add liquidity and choose the hive:dec pool in the dropdown window, choose the amounts of each to add and submit it.

You need equal amounts of each token you're adding but I always use the first MAX button and if that doesn't work I use the next one and it does... :)

Did I answer your questions? Anything I missed?

Thanks for the help. I've done the Uniswap pools, and wanted to check if there was a cost and the general procedure sounds about the same. I'll throw a small amount in to try it out.

I haven't had the time and resources combined to play on uniswap. I have a little experience with cub farms and kingdoms but I really like tribaldex when it makes sense to use it.

Put some DEC/Hive in the pool. That was a lot easier and cheaper than uniswap! Thanks for the help.

You’re very welcome! I’m glad it was a no hassle experience. Did you get to swap anything? I love swaps! Sometimes I set the slippage fee so low I have to try multiple attempts to get it through, and so far 0.1% is as low as I’ve gotten it but I bet someday we get them for .001% or lower. 😁

I didn't try the swap, I just added some Hive I had laying around and an equal amount of DEC. Since the fees are so low, I don't see any reason not to repeat this every time I get a little liquid Hive.

Same here! I’ve been kind hesitant to invest more into hive proper lately, since all the money seems to be in the 2nd layer stuff, but I do think we’re probably seeing the end of $.30-$.50 hive and about to sludge into the $.50-$1 range, but I feel the 3spk project is different. I don’t think it’s a typical layer 2 project.

It’s tied to some cool stuff, and I don’t know how integrated the teams are, if at all, but I’ve seen some references to the Value4Value (V4V) stuff Adam Curry is working on, and if we tie into something like that, with hive being the token that it all runs on, that’s a completely different situation.

I decided long ago Hive is a slow burn investment but I’m more convinced than ever that once it catches fire it’s going to engulf everything almost instantly.

We got a glimpse during the cub defi hype earlier this year, and we’re seeing it happen with Splinterlands and having an even greater impact on an entire industry, rather than a small group of elites, for lack of a better word.

So we’ve raised eyebrows in finance.
We’re in the process for revolutionizing and setting a new standard in gaming.
And we’re about to revolutionize podcasting, making it as easy release one as it is to upload to youtube.

That’s in our first 2 years.

I’m convinced if I just sit here and watch the ships come in, helping out wherever I can, I’ll find a few with my name on them and I think it’s fair to say anyone else can, too.

ALSO: lemme know when you do try a swap. I bet you can’t get it for lower than .1%, but I wanna know regardless. It’s cracking me up how much enjoyment I’m getting out of that.

When using an ATM I wince at any fee above $2.50, even though I do understand the concept of convenience and appreciate the machine is available to begin with… so getting to set a ridiculously low exchange fee and it actually working, NOT because I’m getting over, but because the system charges lower fees as the pool grows by design, is really one of the most overlooked and undervalued resources emerging from all this in my opinion.
