Artwork: Drawing a furious Frost Lion | Splinterlands Art Contest 286 (Eng/Esp)
Greetings dear community, I hope you are very well and active with your fantastic arts. Today I join you to share an art I made for the Splinterlands community, specifically for this week's contest. The card I chose as a model was Frost Lion, which seems to me a powerful creature, after observing it for a while I thought about how to draw it so I added a more aggressive appearance, as it is a lion I wanted to make it imposing. The technique I applied was traditional drawing plus watercolors for the background, I hope you like it.
Saludos estimada comunidad, esperando se encuentren muy bien y activos con sus fantásticos artes. El día de hoy me uno a ustedes para compartir un arte que hice para la comunidad de Splinterlands, específicamente para el contest de esta semana. La carta que escogí como modelo fue Frost Lion, el cual me parece una creatura poderosa, después de observarla un rato pensé en como dibujarla así que le agregue una apariencia más agresiva, como es un león quise hacerlo imponente. La técnica que aplique fue dibujo tradicional más acuarelas para el fondo, espero les guste.
The first thing I did was to make the sketch and give it the corresponding details, then I applied the outline but I did it with blue fine tip marker, this time I used little pen, I only applied it in the smallest areas.
Lo primero que hice fue realizar el boceto y darle los detalles correspondientes, después aplique el delineado pero lo hice con marcador azul punta fina, esta vez use poco bolígrafo, solo lo aplique en las zonas más pequeñas.
One of the things that caught my attention was his icy appearance and his crystals, so I wanted to emulate it but I got a little complicated, making a lion without hairs is a challenge but in the end I did well. I decided to paint him a little different, blue for his element, then I decided to outline with black marker and I kept painting and outlining until I finished with the color.
Una de las cosas que más llamó mi atención fue su apariencia helada y sus cristales, así que quise emularla pero me complique un poco, hacer un león sin pelos es todo un desafío pero al final me fue bien. Decidí pintarlo un poco diferente, de azul por su elemento, después decidí delinear con marcador negro y fui pintando y delineando hasta terminar con el color.
Finally I went to the watercolors for the background and there I used light tones to contrast with the blue of Frost Lion, so I gave him a grayish tone with white, a correct choice. I liked the result and that's how I finished my artwork.
Por ultimo me fui a las acuarelas para el fondo y allí use tonos claros para contrastar con el azul de Frost Lion, por eso le di un tono grisáceo con blanco, una elección correcta. Me gusto el resultado y así termine mi artwork.
