What's up, guys! How's everyone today? I hope everyone is doing well.

For this week I decided to draw Mimosa Nightshade as my Splinterlands entry. I bookmarked this character a while back but totally forgot about her. last week I decided to clean some things on my browser and saw her again and I thought "perfect timing" because I don't need to look for what to draw and waste more time hehe. Kidding, I waste too much time not doing anything anyway XD.

The Process

As you can see, I did a lot of experiments on this character. I added something like that cape extension to her shoulder because I felt like it was something was missing. I also removed things like her sleeves. I did try the one with sleeves but I didn't like it with this pose so I sticked to the tight latex design. From the reference image, it's very clear that this character is using some sort of latex clothing based on the shading there. I never painted latex clothes so this was fun and easy too.The white highlights are the key here. If you add it on proper places in a blurred style it will look like a gloss from a latex suit.

Midway I realised that her facial anatomy was messed up but my rough sketch looks fine XD. I repeated the same mistake I did with one of my old paintings here. It was the distance between her eyes, it was too much. That stuff works for avatar characters because of their physiology. I used liquify tool to move the eyes a bit closer. Also gave her a thick eyelash but I burred the lower side to blend it well with the eye. It was kinda tricky to draw her shoulder armour plate design. I couldn't really see it because of her hair so I improvised that area. Her hair is white so nothing much to do in that area. Just added some basic shading and it was done. After the basic body painting was done I made this background just for fun.

The red background compliments the violet. I made it to just test it hehe. Maybe some might prefer this simple background over the powered-up one with lightning.

Ah so the lightning, that was added yesterday. Felt like something was missing you know. I wanted to make the character alive so I powered her up by adding the big lightning around her. Also added a violet aura around her.

That's pretty much it. The starry mountain background was made to fill the vacant areas. Now it looks like she is outside powering up!
