My favorite Dragons and their performance

# This week's battle challenge theme is Dragons.๐Ÿ˜

In fact, dragon is one of my favorite splinters and also the most used one among all splinters.

In my deck, I have most of the Chaos Legion and its reward dragons. Basically, I like all of them. In my daily ranked battles, Guild brawl, tournament, friend challenge....etc all kinds of battles, once I have chance to use them, I will.

When I saw this week's battle challenge, It's a difficult question for me:
Should I only pick 1 dragon to share or all of them or few?

Finally, I decided to pick 3 of them which are the ones I like the most to share for this week.

#1. Quix De Devious; #2. Carnage Titan; #3. Chaos Dragon

Then the questions come:

  • Why I pick them?
  • What are the special things of them that I like?
  • What are the strategies that I have to line up them?
  • Finally, how do they perform in the field?

Here due to I'm mainly playing in Gold league, either Gold III or Gold II, therefore, all the points that I'm going to talk about are specifically for this league. Other leagues, may have different preference over different dragons.

Let's talk about the Quix The Devious

Quix is one of the legendary dragon summoner among many. But he is the only one in the Chaos Legion. I saw a few good things on him which makes me pick him as the top choice:

  • It is the most cost effective legendary summoner as of now even compared to those rare summoners.
  • Beside him, my other Summoners are mostly in Level 5 which do not play the full potential of my monsters. but my level 3 Quix does play all monsters full potential in Gold league.
  • He has 2 De-buff, reduce speed and range attack. And these two de-buff works pretty well in most battles for me.

As for the strategy of using it, I heavily use it in these scenarios:

  1. High mana battles. By using it, i can use all those powerful dragon monsters
  2. For the battles that speed can make significant difference. for example, all monsters have blast ability
  3. For only certain type of attack monster could be used. for example, no fire and water splinters are available and the ruleset is Melee only monsters....etc.

Next let's talk about the Carnage Titan

Carnage Titan is the latest air drop legendary dragon. He is also my most favorite one. In fact, during the eye candy session of last few months townhall, I saw it, but at that time, I thought this dragon should not be somewhat attractive. However, after it dropped out, I got a level 3 to try. Pretty surprised, it's very powerful in all axes. attack (with his double strike), defend(with his shield ability), survive(7 Armor with 8 health) and flexible at all positions(depends on battle strategy and its ruleset). However, the only drawback I can see is his 10 mana cost which limits its usage must be in the high mana cost battles.

As for the strategy of using it, I heavily use it in these scenarios:

  1. High mana battles
  2. Top choice in rulesets: Super sneak, equal opportunity, Melee Mayhem, blast

Next let's talk about the Chaos Dragon

Chaos Dragon is an early legendary dragon. This is also the one very powerful in all axes. Attack, Defend, Survive and flexibility on positions. Same drawback with Titan, even more, he has a 14 mana cost. This also defines the Chaos Dragon could be only used in high mana cost battles.

Whenever there's enough mana cost, I used this card with Few reasons:

  1. The Random shot with magic blast ability allow Chaos dragon could not be controlled by opponent's monsters' ability. And it causes pretty massive damage to opponent team from a random position.
  2. He has a fly ability with the 3 speed together with Quix debuff to opponent provides few miss chance when opponent attack him. I did not pursue the 4th ability - blind because I think with the level 2's abilities is good enough for his survival
  3. His 4 armor with 10 health defines he is a pretty thick meat which can secure he provides enough attack and damage.

After knowing these 3 dragons I have.

Let's see few battles.

Battle #1

The first battle is a high mana cost with Super sneak and Melee Mayhem rulesets. I like such kind of battle.
The main strategy that I had for this kind of battle are always follow below sequence to pick monsters 0==>4

  1. Use Quix Summoner to reduce opponent's speed
  2. Pick all monsters which has Demoralize ability.
  3. Pick all monsters which has Piercing ability to cut directly cut into the armor
  4. Pick monsters who has double strike, giant kill aiblity and the speed is not 1
  5. Pick monster whoever have high attack or with encourage, Thorns ability.

For the position how to arrange the picked monsters, I followed the rule of

  • Front : with Giant and thick Armor
  • Middle : No special rules
  • Back : with Shield or Thorns and thick Armor

Now we knew all those strategies. Let's look at how the battle was setup on both sides.

From this, whether you can guess how the result will be?
Check the video for the result and let me know your opinion in the comment session.

Battle #2

The second battle is also a high mana cost battle with Holy Protection ruleset.
The main strategy that I had for this kind of battle are always follow below sequence to pick monsters 0==>4

  1. Use Quix Summoner to reduce opponent's speed and increase the choice of monster since this battle only have dragon and life splinters
  2. Pick the big guys as possible
  3. Ensure there's heal on tank and backline
  4. Reduce opponent's speed as much as possible to ensure my monster can attack first over them
  5. Pick monster as massive attack as possible

For the position how to arrange the picked monsters, I followed the rule of

  • Front : Uriel the purifier
  • 2nd : Carnage Titan to maximize the attack to opponent's tank
Middle : No special sequence but to fill back heal, slow and Armor repair in between.
  • Back : Chaos dragon thick enough to protest the middle monsters.

After it, how you think about the setup on both side? We only have 3 monsters are different on both sides.
Will the result give a big difference? please check out in the video and let us know your opinion on it.

Battle #3

The last battle is again a high mana cost battle with Melee Mayhem ruleset.
The main strategy that I had for this battle is some how similar to the battle #1, the minor difference is instead of picking all Demoralize monsters, I picked on with both encourage and thorns abilities.

In terms of monsters' position, due to the Melee Mayhem is the reverse ruleset with Super sneak, so i reversed the arrangement as the one described in battle #1.

After everything is set, how you think about the setup on both side? Melee vs. magic team.
Will the result go with your expectation? please check out in the video and let us know your opinion on it.
