Hello, everyone! It's time for another Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge from Splinterlands. In this post, we will showcase the 'Broken Arrows' ruleset, where monsters with ranged attacks cannot be used in battle. Moreover, monsters with 2 types of attacks (which include ranged) cannot be used either. For this battle challenge, I will share a Silver League Level Caps Brawl battle. Let's take a closer look at the card I used to win in this ruleset and how it contributed to my team's victory.

Broken Arrows
Units with ranged attacks cannot be used.
Units with 2 types of attack (which include ranged) cannot be used.
Consider utilizing units with Thorns or Magic Reflect, as your opponent will have to use either melee or magic units.

Battle Configuration

For this battle, here are the specific rulesets and a mana cap to consider:

Rulesets:
Broken Arrows: Ranged attack Monsters may not be used in battles.
Tis but Scratches: All Monsters have the Cripple ability.

Mana Cap: 26
Active Elements: Fire, Water, Death, Dragon

My Lineup:

Summoner: Tarsa

  • It provides +1 Melee Attack and Health buff to all allied monsters.

1st Position: Antoid Platoon

  • I chose this for the first position due to its Shield Ability. Since this game focuses on melee and magic attacks, I hope the enemy won't use magic attacks against my Antoid Platoon.

2nd Position: Scorch Fiend

  • I selected this monster as a filler in the second position. It will act as an additional shield for my damagers.

3rd Position: Iidri Fyre

  • This monster will taunt all attacks from the enemy and also has the redemption ability, inflicting 1 melee damage to all enemies upon death.

4th Position: Tenyii Striker

  • This is my primary damager, attacking monsters from behind.

5th Position: Fina Voxom

  • This monster is my main damager with its Opportunity and Bloodlust abilities.

6th Position: Spirit Hoarder

  • The primary role of this monster is to heal the damage taken by Iidri Fyre, prolonging the Taunt ability against enemy attacks.

Strategy: I selected this lineup for the Broken Arrows ruleset to maximize the melee attack of my team. Iidri Fyre will taunt any attacks that can target backline monsters. Simultaneously, Antoid Platoon will tank damage from the enemy monster in the 1st position. Spirit Hoarder will then heal Iidri Fyre for any damage it receives. While these monsters fulfill their roles, Fina Voxom will buff itself by eliminating backline monsters one by one. Tenyii Striker will assist Fina Voxom in achieving this result.

Let's Rumble

The enemy also used Kelya Frendul as the summoner and thankfully, there is no magic attack monster. However, it will going to be difficult for Fina Voxom to one hit-kill the opponents since they will have an additional +1 Shield from Kelya Frendul.

By the end of round 1, no monster was defeated and my Iidri Fyer loses its shield due to massive attacks from the enemy.

In round 2, Fina Voxom managed to kill the enemy Hardy Stonefish and this increased its stats by 1. My Iidri Fyre was also defeated and dealt 1 melee damage to all opponents.

image.png

By the end of round 3, Fina Voxom was able to defeat another monster and buffed all its stats by 1. The enemy Isgald Vorst also defeated my monster and increased it stats by 1.

By the end of round 4, both Fina Voxom and Isgald Vorst defeated another monster and increased their stats by 1.

In round 5 , Tenyii Striker was killed and its now Fina Voxom versus Isgald Vorst and Deeplurker.

By the end of round 6, Fina Voxom still stands strong and this is due to the accumulated buff in the early game.

In round 7, Fina Voxom attacked first and was able to kill Isgald Vorst. Deeplurker's attack missed because of Fina Voxom's high Speed stats. And in round 8, Fina Voxom was able to defeat Deeplurker.

This battle is a close fight and proves that Bloodlust ability is still something to be wary in battles.
