Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge: How I Countered a Full Magic Attack Lineup!

brawl.png

Hello, everyone! It's time for another Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge from Splinterlands! For this post, we will talk about the Wands Out, which only units with magic attacks may be used in battles. For this post, I will share a battle in Bronze League Modern Format. I made use of a Death Summoner instead of an Earth Summoner to counter the units with magic attacks and heal from Earth splinter. Let's take a closer look.

RULESET: Wands Out

Description:
Only units with magic attacks may be used.
Use Phase, Void, Void Armor, and Magic Reflect to counter magic attacks.

Battle Configuration

For this battle, here is the ruleset and mana cap to be considered: Here we have only one ruleset, which is "Wands Out: Only units with magic attacks may be used." The mana cap is 40, and the active elements are Fire, Water, Earth, Life, and Death. The mana cap is perfect to use several monster units. In Modern Ranked, only from Earth Summoner buffs the magic attack of allied units. And I thought that the opponent will probably use Earth element and I would love to counter that strategy. With that said, here is my line-up for this battle.

Summoner: Mimosa Nightshade - This summoner will reduce the ranged attack of monsters, reduce damage from magic attacks and provides affliction to enemy monsters at the start of the game. So I think that this is the best counter for this ruleset.

Position 1: Djinn Muirat - This card is a good tank for this ruleset because of its Void Armor that treats magic attack as a regular physical attack. And if we add Mimosa Nightshades Void ability, this card will surely last long in the battle.

Position 2: Revealer - This card's Stun ability is a nice to have because once the enemy is stunned, its turn is skipped and will make it a little useless in the match.

Position 3: Venari Spellsmith - I used this card because of its Dispel ability, just in case the enemy used a monster with Bloodlust.

Position 4: Usut - This card is my main attacker or card in this battle. It has Flying ability as well as the Bloodlust ability. The only downside of this card is its low Speed but I hope it will get more kills in this battle.

Position 5: Magi Necrosi - My last card has the Snipe and Camouflage ability. This is my only back line attacker monster and is very useful in dealing with enemy support monsters.

The Strategy: To summarize, my strategy in this battle is to lessen the magic attack of the enemy and also to negate their healing ability. I would also love to use Usut's Bloodlust to defeat the enemy.

Let's Rumble

As expected, the enemy used Obsidian to buff the magic attack of its units. The enemy also used 3 monsters with healing abilities.

In Round 1, even though I already negate Obsidian's +1 Magic Attack, my Djinn Muirat was overwhelmed by the attack output of the enemy line up. They easily tore down its armor and even inflicted 3 damage to its HP.

By Round 2, my tank was already defeated, but I also defeated the enemy Mycelic Slipspawn. Now, my monsters can now focus their attack on the enemy in the first position.

In Round 3, a nice thing happened. Kron the Undying was stunned and it will make it useless for 1 turn.

In Round 4, Usut killed Kron the Undying. And going to Round 5, Usut has now 4 magic damage.

It then killed Doctor Blight and that added another increase to Usut's status.

And finally, in Round 7, it killed Spirit Hoarder. And that makes me the winner in this battle.

In this battle, I earned 2,276 RP and 1.085 SPS. My rating also increased by 14 and hoping to stay in leader board by the end of the season.
