Good day, Splinterlands! It's a chilly evening here compared to our usual weather. Anyway, how have your recent battles been? I hope you are having a fun time playing ranked or tournament games. In this post, I would like to share an amazing battle that highlights the evasion skills of Djinn Oshannus and Coerl Lurker. Let's take a look at it.

Here is a quick rundown of Djinn Oshannus and. Coerl Lurker stats.

COEURL LURKER
Edition: RIFTWATCHERS
Rarity: LEGENDARY
Element: NEUTRAL
Attack: MELEE
Abilities at Max Level: TAUNT, DODGE, PHASE, THORNS

LORE

When the Riftwatchers spotted the coeurl lurker on Lemell, they figured it could be another weapon in their arsenal against the Chaos Legion. However, no matter what traps they laid for it, the beast was impossible to snare. When they finally cornered it, the coeurl attacked and decimated an entire squad of hunters. The sole survivor described it as a sleek, cat-like creature with terrible fangs and claws. It had four tentacles tipped with thorns, two each on its shoulders and hindquarters, and the tail of a scorpion. It used its tentacles and tail to impale its prey, then tossed them aside, slammed them against a tree or the ground, or yanked them in close for the killing blow....

DJINN OSHANNUS
Edition: CHAOS LEGION
Rarity: LEGENDARY
Element: WATER
Attack: MAGIC
Abilities at Max Level: VOID, PHASE, FORCEFIELD

LORE

Dawn of the Djinn 3 of 4 - The Djinn are angry at the way they were tricked by the Planet, but also appreciative that they can now enjoy this limited freedom, each trapped by natural forces. The Djinn possess powerful ancient magic of their own, which is now charged into the force of one element for each of them. The ancient demons of war are an awkward bunch to be chosen as a planetary defensive force, but they are also impressively capable of the job. As long as they are bound by the Planet, they will do its bidding. Whatever their would-be choices and allegiances, they will fight against the Chaos Legion to protect the sixth mana gate.

Battle Configuration

For this battle, there is a specific ruleset and a mana cap to consider:

Rulesets:
Silenced Summoners: Summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities.
Broken Arrows: Ranged attack may not be used in battles.

Mana Cap: 39
Active Elements: Water, Earth, Life and Dragon

My Lineup:

Summoner: Zeddica

  • This is a 3-mana Summoner from the Rebellion set and has no abilities. This card is perfect for the Silenced Summoners ruleset because you won't lose anything.

First Position: Djinn Oshannus

  • I chose this in the first position because of its high speed stats as partnered with the Phase skill where magic attacks can miss this unit.

Second Position: Baakjira

  • I chose this in the second position to furthere debuff the Speed of the enemy. This will increase the chance of Djinn Oshannus to evade incoming attacks. It will also gain 2 Magic Attack power from Daarg Deadblast's Weapon Training ability.

Third Position: Daarg Deadblast

  • I chose this in the third position to further increase the Speed my line up. This will also increase the chance of Djinn Oshannus to evade incoming attacks.

Fourth Position: Merdaali Guardian

  • This is my first support monster and will focus on healing Djinn Oshannus, it will also gain 2 Magic Attack power from Daarg Deadblast's Weapon Training ability.

Fifth Position: Anasth Soothsayer

  • This is my second support monster. Aside from the healing ability, it also has the Cleanse ability just in case the enemy will use abilities that will debuff my monster in the first position, which is currently Djinn Oshannus.

Sixth Position: Riverboat Captain

  • My last monster and also has the Affliction ability to debuff the enemy's healing capability.

Strategy: This lineup aims to overpower the enemy through a combination of speed and attrition. Djinn Oshannus can effectively defend against Magic Attacks if the enemy's attacks successfully pass through its Phase ability. The Swiftness of Daarg Deadblast and the Slow effect of Baakjira will synergize to ensure Djinn Oshannus maintains a high Speed stat. Additionally, two healers are included to fully restore Djinn Oshannus' HP whenever it takes damage.

Let's Rumble!

The enemy used Coeurl Lurker as the main monster and it's line up also has Baakjira and Daigendark Surveyor for speed debuff, Daarg Deadblast for speed buff and Anasth Soothsayer that has Cleanse and Tank Heal abilities.

By the end of round 1, after multiple missed attacks, my Djinn Oshannus still has 12HP while enemy Coeurl Lurker has 5 remaining HP.

By the end of round 2, Djinn Oshannus' HP is still intact and Coeurl Lurker's HP went up to 7.

After multiple round of evading attacks by Djinn Oshannus and Coeurl Lurker, my Djinn Oshannus emerged victorious.

After defeating Coeurl Lurker, it was only a matter of time before fully overcoming the enemy lineup. The battle concluded in Round 17.
