For this week's challenge, we will showcase the 'Fire & Regret' ruleset, where all units receive the Return Fire ability at the start of the battle. Enemy units that attack with ranged attacks receive damage back. For this battle challenge, I will share a Brawl battle. Let's take a closer look at the card I used to win in this ruleset and how it contributed to my team's victory.

Fire & Regret
All units receive the Return Fire ability at the start of the battle. Enemy units that attack with ranged attacks receive damage back.
Damage returned is equal to damage of the attacker divided by 2, rounded up.
Ranged attack units with the Reflection Shield ability do not take damage from reflected magic attacks.
The Amplify ability increases damage.

Battle Configuration

For this battle, here are the specific rulesets and a mana cap to consider:

Rulesets:
Fire & Regret: All units receive the Return Fire ability at the start of the battle
Silenced Summoners: Summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities.
Healed Out: All healing abilities are removed from Monsters and Summoners.

Mana Cap: 20
Active Elements: Death

Summoner: Thaddius Brood

  • Since one of the rulesets is Silenced Summoners, the only role of this card is to summon monsters.

1st Position: Cursed Windeku
-- This card has the Thorn ability and I am guessing that the enemy will either use Melee and/or Magic attacks only so I think this will be useful in this battle.

2nd to 4th Position respectively: Fenmoor Haunt, Silent Sha-vi and Uraeus
-- I used these cards to attack the enemy from behind.

Strategy: The strategy for this battle is to attack the enemy from behind. The mana cap is 20 only and that gives me a limited selection of monsters to be used. For that, I used this strategy because I thought that the enemy might also use a Cursed Windeku and might also use magic attack monsters with low HP and armor. And these can be killed easily my monsters with Sneak ability.

Let's Rumble

The enemy used Thaddius Brood also to summon Disintegrator, Venari Marksman and Gobson Bomber. The enemy used 2 monsters with Ranged Attack maybe because he/she has no other options. The Demorilize ability of the Disintegrator was very effective against my line-up because I used melee attack monsters for each and every position.

Round 1 ended by easily defeating Venari Marksman and this buffed the stats of enemy Disintegrator and Gobson Bomber.

In round 2, my Cursed Windeku was defeated and my line-up is only targeting the enemy Disintegrator because Gobson Bomber has the Camouflage ability.

However in round 3, Disintegrator was easily defeated, leaving Gobson Bomber exposed.

The fight concluded when Gobson Bomber was defeated in Round 4.
For this fight, since one of the rulesets grants Return Fire ability, it is best to not used Ranged Attack monsters.
