Welcome summoners to our Rebellion Sneak Peek! This first set of cards were initially revealed on the Town Hall, but we will also be revealing more new cards on our blog over the next week until the Rebellion set hits the Mavs server.

The Gobalano Soldier lays the smack down on your opponent's rearmost unit or tank, destroying their armor and leaving them vulnerable to a follow-up attack. Better yet? With Ambush, he gets it done before the battle even begins.

The Gobalano crime syndicate is never one to pass up an opportunity to throw their weight around and make some easy coin. So when the Chaos Empire laid claim to the Splinterlands, the Gobalano were quick to cast their lot with them.

Soon thereafter, the syndicate spread its operations across Praetoria, infesting the major cities like cockroaches. Soldiers are the Gobalano’s enforcers when it comes to tax collection, intimidation, extortion, kidnapping for ransom, and other profitable business ventures.

With its high health and armor, the Infernal Firestorm makes for a formidable tank. Add in Flank, and you can slap a high-attack melee unit in the second position and absolutely shred through your opponent's defenses.

Infernal firestorms are born from the molten rocks and ceaseless flames of the Plane of Fire. Few mages have the power to conjure them. Fewer still can control them. If unleashed and left unchecked, these tempestuous elementals can reduce entire cities to smoldering ruins.

The Chaos Animator is a low-mana support unit that will be an awesome additon to your team. Her Amplify ability provides a critical boost to cards with Thorns, Return Fire, and Magic Reflect. Void Armor ensures she can go the distance against magic attackers. And Redemption can turn the tide of the battle when she goes down.

When it comes to transmutation, Tenni Mayla is something of a prodigy. Using nothing but a bit of magic and a wrench, she can build and animate mighty golems capable of great heaps of destruction.

Tenni was rather fond of the tyranny and oppression that the Chaos Empire brought when it conquered the Splinterlands, but figured she’d much rather be on the giving than receiving end. Now, she uses her arcane craftsmanship in service to the Empire, whether it be crushing revolts or stomping out insurgents—often quite literally.

The Anasth Soothsayer checks all the boxes of an awesome support card and is sure to be a staple on your Water teams. Not only can she Cleanse and Heal your tank, but her Dispel quickly nullifies pesky effects like Bloodlust and Martyr. Meanwhile, Lookout protects units on either side of her from Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity. And if your opponent tries to take her out? Well, her Dodge isn't going to make it easy.

The Anasth Soothsayer swims the northern coast of Praetoria, seeking anything that may be of value and could be sold for profit. They offer sage advice to any that can make payment, though their predictions are often haphazard at best. And with the hostile regime of the Chaos Empire choking much of the profit from the north, soothsayers have found that folk are willing to pay that little bit more for some optimism in their lives.

Meet Rebellion's first dual-element summoner, Zeddica. Play her when the Death and Water elements are available in battle, and you can use cards from both elements on your team. You'll find entirely new strategies at your disposal in this awesome new era of dual-element gameplay!

The sorceress Zeddica Blackthorn was an underlord in the Belurocian military who served in Overlord Slade’s command. When the Chaos Empire began its conquest of the Splinterlands, she joined Slade in his betrayal and led her forces against New Beluroc.

After the capital city’s fall, Slade hand-picked Zeddica to be one of his captains. Now, she and her company of legionnaires help to ensure the citizens of Fireboro remain subdued. Her tactics are cruel and ruthless, and she enjoys dolling out reminders of the price of defiance—whether warranted or not.

Last but not least, our first Tactics summoner, Prophet Rosa. After you and your opponent's teams are revealed, you'll have a choice. Do you give Shield to one of your units or +2 ranged to two of your units? Or maybe it would be better to buff your opponent's team instead! With Rebellion's Tactics summoners, the possibilities are limitless.

In the Northeast Coastal Steppes of the Wild Northeast is a dynamic confederation of seven nomadic tribes known as Panopia. These tribes came to Praetoria from Azmare, and at first, they thrived on an abundance of natural resources.

However, all that changed when the Chaos Empire arrived. Caught in the clutches of its tyranny, the tribes of Panopia were taxed in coin and conscripts, with the strongest of their braves enlisted in compulsory service to the legions of Chaos.

Rosa Ombros is a prophet and tribal leader among the bluehair minotaur of the Ujurak tribe. Not long ago, she received a vision: that a path to ending the Chaos Empire’s reign of terror lies to the south, somewhere in the bleak expanse of the Drybone Badlands.
Now, Prophet Rosa prepares to embark on a perilous pilgrimage and a journey of faith to free the tribes of Panopia.

The mana costs seem quite low for what you get from these cards, but I guess it's just the natural power creep. Just this time at least to me it's really noticeable.

But the artwork looks great and I can't wait to start collecting and using these cards.

wait, is that possible?

Better yet? With Ambush, he gets it done before the battle even begins.

I still don't quite understand this. Does a monster with ambush have the advantage of attacking 1 time before the battle starts?
