steevc just finished a 7.19km run, that lasted for 43 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 542.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
I finished work for the year yesterday, so I did not need to get up early today. I was out at our last pub music jam of the year last night, so I needed my sleep anyway. It was a good night with a fair few Christmas songs.

As the kids are off school I could use the cyclepath to Stotfold without running into crowds. I had been thinking of doing intervals, so I improvised some fartlek (Swedish for 'fast play'). The first sprint was the length of House Lane. I have not done that at speed for a while and did not quite beat my best time. It was a little cool out and it did rain by the end.

I am not sure I saw any other runners today. Perhaps they are having a lie-in. I ran as far as the surgery and then went to check out the new outdoor gym in the field next to it. They have some different equipment to others I have seen. There are kettle bells on poles, so I lifted one of those a few times. There are also some handles to pull yourself up from various positions. There were pictures to suggest exercises and QR codes that I assume give more details and possibly videos, but I did not try those.

Then I just had to run back with more sprints. I took the long way around the village. The rain started when I was nearly done. I just needed to feed the chickens before I went in for some breakfast.

I may not get to do a Christmas parkrun this year, but I hope to run anyway. Got to burn off the extra calories.

Have a good one.

It would seem most of the school districts are out for the holidays already except us. We have a full day of school today, then we are off. I have to come back and work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday next week. We skipped our workout this morning. I expect I will get one in tomorrow since I get to sleep in. Plus we have a "bomb cyclone" heading our way, so I am sure I will be moving a fair share of snow this weekend!

My wife's school finished last week. My work is mostly shut until the new year and so are many other businesses. It's that time when most people are off work. Of course some still have to go in for essential services and the shops do not shut for long.

Hope the snow is not too bad for you.

We have some districts around us that were off last Friday. It's crazy to me. With all the new rules and regulations, I don't know how they can be off that long. I don't really mind having to come in next week. It should be pretty quiet and I can take down the network to move my servers over and stuff. Will probably be one of the most productive weeks of the year for me!

I think my place will be doing some maintenance whilst nobody is around.

Those outdoor gyms are popping up all over London. I have access to at least 3 of them and the calisthenics part is actually quite good.

There's a couple near here. Anything to get people more active has to be good.
