A funny thing about Splinterlands is that I actually spend very little time playing the game. The majority of what I do includes looking at the token market, checking card prices, reading and writing Hive posts, and watching my favorite content creators. And since I do a lot of listening, whether I'm cooking, doing dishes, etcetera, I grew fond of some of these channels. And although there are a lot of great content creators, I'd like to share my personal top three favorites.

Tales from the Crypt Mancer

Some confuse the name Crypt Mancer from Cryptomancer, who is one of the lead developers of the game. This is why other content creators call him Tales instead. But the alias Crypt Mancer derived from the actual Splinterlands card Crypt Mancer and also from the popular 90s TV show/movie franchise Tales from the Crypt. You can tell this by his opening spiel, "Hello crypto boys and ghouls."

Tales is all about deep analysis of Splinterlands. I'd like to think of him as a well-meaning critic who is always ready to speak his mind regardless of whether it is a popular or unpopular opinion. He likes to crunch the numbers and dissect the pros and cons of different topics regarding Splinterlands.

In my opinion, he has a more bearish take on the project. And while I may not agree to some of his commentaries, I appreciate the fact that he takes time to tackle the potential negative impacts of some aspects of the game like the rampant botting, oversupply of cards, and more. It is important to have someone who speaks about such issues and Tales does a good job at that.

The People's Guild

There's just some things that can be better understood in a long-form conversation rather than in short videos and the People's Guild does just that. Aside from YouTube, they also regularly update their Spotify channel. This podcast is just perfect to listen to while going about your day.

The People's Guild hosts do a fantastic job of guiding the flow of conversation from the introduction to the hard-hitting questions. Their platform gives voice to the Splinterlands community members who we otherwise just know about through Discord chats and game leaderboards. I've followed them from their initial episodes and they've come a long way since then. They've even interviewed a good number of the SPL team including the founders Matt and Aggroed. If you like podcast and Splinterlands, then the People's Guild is perfect for you.

Aftersound Gaming

And finally, we have my number one favorite Splinterlands content creator, Aftersound Gaming. This guy eats and breathes Splinterlands. He does fantastic game content every single day, with occasional breaks. He's a bull in a bear's clothing. He likes to think that he is often bearish about the project but in reality, there's so much hope and positivity in his videos.

I listen to him so much that I don't even bother to sit through the town halls and just wait for his five takeaways videos. He also has some good insights about the nuances of the game. If you want to stay up to date with the latest news and happening, then I highly recommend Aftersound's channel.
