My Thoughts on Some Rebellion Cards #1

AI generated image using nightcafe.studio

The Rebellion presale was a roaring success with results almost hitting the 500,000 pack allocation. One can say that there is a definite interest and hype around this new Splinterlands card set despite having little information on what the cards.

And at the time of writing, it is a mere week away from the expected general sale of Rebellion. And unlike previous card set launches, the company decided to give preview card images to other content creators in order for them to have exclusive opportunities to reveal them in their own shows and communities.

And aside from these content creator card spoilers, there is the usual blog posts from the company themselves, revealing the bulk of these new Rebellion cards. The third sneak peek post was just released today. You can check it out here. And from this most recent post, I'd like to talk about a few of them that I took interest in.

Chaos Golem

First off, we have the Chaos Golem. This is yet another addition to a growing collection of fire splinter melee behemoths. Chaos Golem is definitely a force to reckon with in the first position. Having the ability to fight back against melee and ranged attacks is bad enough, imagine doing it with the enrage ability activated. I would definitely try to use it in tandem with Conqueror Jacek to jack up its speed and give it a piercing ability as well.

Pirate of Eight

When I first saw Pirate of Eight, I knew this would be a great card to go to for the second position. With its low cost, it will be useable in most matchups. In a perfect world, this would be the case, if not for the existence of Tide Biter. I imagine Pirate of Eight would be such an impactful card in the second position and I wouldn't be surprised if my opponent would always auto-include a Tide Biter or other reflection shield-capable monsters in their lineup whenever this card is playable in the rule sets.

Ulundin Overseer

Splinterlands finally made a card that is a the very definition of a wall. Ulundin Overseer is such a sturdy card that it ignores everything else and focuses on strictly defense. Being a neutral monster, I imagine this to be a staple of fog of war or reverse speed rule sets. And with such high defensive potential, I would love to give it void armor as well via Grandmaster Rathe and then support it with a bunch of heal and repair monsters. I would also love to try an Ulundin Overseer tank with something like a Grund or Quora Towershead sneakily attacking behind him.

There's a lot more Rebellion cards yet to be revelead. In the coming days leading to the general sale, I would love to try and give my personal thoughts on some of them as well.
