My Splinterlands-ranked career has been in a slump lately. This is especially true since I am once again stuck in the dreaded modern league bronze hell. It's like a quicksand where you can linger within the bronze I level but never really cross over to the silver league.

I've been doing really bad to the point where lose streaks were more common than a single win. I might be in a 20 to 30% win rate at this point. Ever since Untamed cards said goodbye to modern, it became really, really hard to get a victory. It's like more of the pros decided to just hang out in bronze. Every lineup I encounter is optimized for a certain rule set. The combination of soulbound reward cards and Chaos Legion is truly a force to reckon with.

But this poses a problem especially for new players who are trying out Splinterlands for the first time. The difficulty level of bronze is too hard for them to enjoy the game. This might hinder Splinterlands from gaining additional playerbase.

Rebellion-only League

So why not introduce a third league. The difference is that it will be strictly a Rebellion-only league which will cater to newer players. Maybe we can set the qualifications to just accounts created within six months and haven't had a large collection of assets yet. The SPS rewards can be funded by the DAO which I think they will allow if it can truly serve the newer players. The SPS pool might also be set to a lower amount like a tenth of what wild and modern are allocated. This is just to discourage veteran players from creating alt accounts and start farming on this format as well.

Or maybe we can make the prize pool high as well but only in the higher leagues. This is just to disincentivize veterans from playing in the bronze levels and just leave it for the new users to brawl amongst themselves. Having this Rebellion-only format can fully showcase the full potential of individual Rebellion cards. Who knows, this might even increase the demand for packs and singles on the secondary market. This is just a random thought but I do know that we really have to address the problem regarding the new player experience as soon as possible.
