It's a special milestone for the Splinterlands game. Ever since the inception of modern ranked play, we knew that it was inevitable that the Untamed set will rotate out when the new set, Rebellion, launches. But it feels so surreal now that we are in that exact moment. Time flew by quite fast and a new era of Splinterlands gaming is finally upon us.

Gone are the dominant and broken strategies of Scarred Llamas, Yodin Zakus, and Byzantine Kitties. What's exciting is that the community as a whole now embarks on a journey to discover the new metas that will emerge from the void left by Untamed cards.

My Personal Strategy

I feel like I've been pulled apart into different directions when it comes to Splinterlands right now. At one hand, I wanna stack as much SPS as I possibly can. When Splinterlands finally catch the greater cryptocommunity's attention, I want to be holding a huge bag of SPS. This is simply because the SPS is the main token of the game and speculators would try to get their hands on them once FOMO kicks in.

Aside from that, SPS is crucial for ranked play which translates to bigger SPS rewards when you move up in leagues. You can also rent your staked SPS for even more passive income on top of the regular staking rewards.

Then there's my land dilemma. I have shifted my focus into accumulating cheap land plots in the past few weeks. I ended up with seven common natural lands but with not enough resources to put them into production mode. I know having a handful of lands is a good kind of problem as I can slowly develop them but leaving them idle for now is not a good feeling for sure.

Finally, Rebellion. While everyone's still figuring out what to make of the new cards entering the modern scene, I already know what I would try to collect first. I've always aligned myself towards the white-blue Azorius colors in Magic the Gathering. And the counterpart of that is finally here in Splinterlands via the new summoner, Prunda Undervesch. I've briefly had a chance to play with her at the Bronze level and it's fun to see the merging of life and water splinters.

You can check out the battle here. It's too bad that Adelade Brightwing's resurrect is unlocked at the silver level. It would have been neat to see two counts of resurrect of Venari Marksrat. But many are catching on and Prunda is one of the most popular dual-color summoners in the market right now. She's trading at 50 cents and you need 400 of them to play in the Diamond level. That's a hefty cost considering her common rarity.

There's so many things that Rebellion brings to the table but for now, I will try to hit this target first. Fun and exciting times ahead for Splinterlands, that's for sure.
