Wild League Adventure

WILD LEAGUE.png

I've tried to play in modern during the first few days of this season. But unfortunately, due to the recent gameplay changes, it's now quite hard, especially for players like me who rely mostly on rentals, to climb the ranks. I often encounter very optimized and maxed out lineup. This had me wondering why they maintain their low bronze and silver ranks despite winning a lot.

I've also heard a lot of talks about how players now choose to play in wild instead where the matchups are easier. Aside from the SPS rewards, I wanted to stock up some glint. Since it's wild format where any card becomes available, I once again revisited my all-time favorite combo to spam.

Once again, I tried to get away with winning using the lowest rental cost possible. This four maxed out cards was just around 200 DEC for two days. Of course, Kron the Undying is an autowin card for me especially if the opponents are bots using level one cards. I didn't bother to rent Llama since Kron already has the Last Stand ability at max level. I just used Obisidian instead to bolster the magic attack by one.

I also got Chanseus which is also one of my favorite Untamed cards. I have a nice combination using my Life reward cards. There's also Warrior of Peace which is a catch-all enemy damage debuff. At max level, he can cover all types of attack and lower then by one point. He can also be a formidable tank with 14 health points.

Life Deck Lineup

This is probably my best Life splinter lineup in the Wild format. I've been thinking about it for a long time now but haven't actually put it in actual battle since I rarely make it in the diamond and champ leagues. But now that max level cards are open for all leagues, I now have the ability to test it out.

Basically, how it works is that both ends of the lineup are protected by Chanseus. The tank, Imperial Knight, gets its armor repaired while the backline taunt, Iziar, receives Triage. On top of that, all types of attack are weakened by one point thanks to Warrior of Peace. It and Pelacor Conjurer are going to be on the offensive with magic attacks courtesy of Aves Sturgis. Conjurer can also be a backup tank for instances where Imperial Knight gets overwhelmed with damage which is not likely to happen often since Iziar redirects backline damage to her. If you want to check the actual strategy in action, you may do so here.

Bronze III to Gold II

And with that 200 DEC rental cost, I managed to rise up to Gold II which is something I was surprised by. I used to have a hard time breaking through Bronze I or Silver I back in the day.

The SPS reward is still low compared to modern but the number of times I win makes up for it. There's also times where the opponent don't even submit lineups, which may be bots.

The glint rewards on the other hand is satisfactory for me. I get around 100 on average each match. And I know this might now be sustainable in the future but I'll definitely take advantage of this period in the game.
