What is a Carrion Shade? (Que es un carrion Shade?)

The Shade carrion is a scavenger bird that usually travels in groups and although it rarely attacks humans, its sighting always precedes misfortune and death.

Overview (Introduccion)

Carrion Shade is a 1 mana card that is often used as a decoy to deflect opportunity and sneak attacks from more important cards. The Flying ability that acquires at level 3 increases its evasion capacity, considerably improving this decoy strategy.

(El carrion Shade es una carta de 1 de mana que suele utilizarse de forma de señuelo para desviar los ataque de oportunidad o ataques sneak de cartas mas importantes. La habilidad Flying que el Carrion Shade adquiere a partir del nivel 3 incrementa su capacidad de evacion mejorando considerablemente esta estrategia de señuelo.)

Strategy

I designed my strategy based on the rules of battle and analyzing my opponent's last 5 battles, where I anticipated that it was very likely that he would use the fire splinter.
For this reason I selected my units with the idea to counter their cards if possible. You can see a breakdown of why I chose each unit below.

(Diseñe mi estrategia basado en las reglas de la batalla y analizando las ultimas 5 batallas de mi adversario, en donde me anticipe que era bastante probable que utilizara la splinter de fuego.
Por esta razon selecione mis unidades con la idea de contrarestar y de ser posible dominar las suyas. Pueden ver un detalle de porque elegi cada unidad debajo.)

Team Breakdown

I chose the Course Windeku for its Thorns ability which is great against Melee based attacks, with these attacks being predominant on the fire splinter

(Seleccione al Curse Windeku por su habilidad de Thorns la cual es ideal contra ataques basados en
Melee, siendo estos ataques predominantes en la splinter de fuego.)

I used this card as a decoy to be able to protect the other cards in the event that the opponent were to use the Serpentine spy which is usually used in the fire splinter formations.
It is important to note that Carrion Shade Level 3's Flying ability gives it a big advantage compared to other possible decoy cards.

(Utilice esta carta como señuelo para poder proteger las otras cartas en el caaso del que el oponente utilizara el serpentine spy el cual suele se habitual en los formaciones en la splinter de fuego.
Es importante destacar que la habilidad de Flying del carrion shade level 3 le de mucha ventaja comparando con otras posibles cartas señuelo.)

Very useful for breaking through the armor of cards like Antoid Platoon or Living Lava, both of which are widely used in the first position of the bronze league.
Also the Life Leech ability of the Venary Bonesmith is always very useful since it allows us to resist longer.

(Muy util para atravezar la armadura de cartas como Antoid Platoon o Living lava ambas muy utilizadas en primera posicion en la liga de bronze.
Tambien la habilidad Life leech del Venary Bonesmith es siempre muy util ya que nos permite resistir mas tiempo.)

A ranged card that is slow but has good attack and health for its cost. The 4 health on this card is especially important against the fire splinter as in general in this league fire splinter opportunity and sneak cards usually deal around 3 damage,and because of this, this card can last more turns than if for example I had used Soul Strangler which is faster and costs 3 mana but only has 3 health.

(Una carta de rango que es lenta pero que para su coste tiene con un buen ataque y salud. La salud de 4 en esta carta es especialmente importate contra el splinter de fuego ya que en general en esta liga las cartas con oportunidad y sneak de la splinter de fuego suelen causar unos 3 de daño. De esta manera esta carta puede resistir mas turnos que si por ejemplo hubiera mas usado Soul Strangler al cual es mas rapida y cuesta 3 de mana pero solo tiene 3 de salud.)

With his 3 damage at level 3, he is essential to destroy the enemy lines and although he has less health than his fire counterpart (Tenyii Striker), he far outclasses him in a sneak attack war thanks to his great speed.

(Con sus 3 de daño en nivel 3 es fundamental para destrozar las lineas enemigas y aunque con menos salud que su contraparte de fuego(Tenyii Striker) lo supera ampliamente en una guerra de sneak attack gracias a su gran velocidad)

Round 1

The enemy formation is quite standard and as expected although I was a bit surprised to see the Spark Pixies in the 4 position instead of the last position since his flying ability along with his speed make it very good at protecting from sneaks attacks. In fact after analyzing the battle in detail I realized that if it had been in the last position probably my opponent would have won the battle.

(La formacion del enemigo es bastante estandar y dentro de los esperado aunque me sorprendi un poco al ver al spark pixies en la 4 posicion en lugar de la ultima posicion dada que su habilidad de fly junto con su velocidad lo hacen muy bueno protegiendo de los sneak attacks, es mas luego de analizar la batalla detaladamente me di cuenta que si lo hubiera puesto en la ultima posicion probablemente mi oponente hubiera ganado la batalla.)

Round 2

In the previous round we were able to appreciate the usefulness of Carrion Shade which dodged the snake spy's attack making him lose a turn.
Here we can anticipate and see that after the Spark Pixies attack the Serpentine Spy is going to kill our Cursed Windeku which in turn kills it thanks to his thorn ability.
We can also see how the Silent Sha-Vi thanks to his speed will kill the Tenyii striker before he can attack.

(En el round anterior pudimos apreciar la utilidad de Carrion Shade el cual esquivo el ataque del serpentien spy haciendole perder un turno.
Aca podemos anticiparnos y ver que luego del ataque del Spark Pixies el Serpentine Spy va a matar a nuestro Cursed Windeku el cual a su vez lo elemina gracias a su habilidad thorn.
Tambien podemos ver como el silent Sha-Vi gracias a su velocidad va a matar al Tenyii striker antes que este pueda atacar.)

Round 3

In this turn, although the death of the Spark pixies is possible, it is not 100% guaranteed (given its flying ability), but the destruction of the living lava is, putting us very close to victory.

(En este turno aunque la muerte del Spark pixies es posible no esta 100% asegurada(dada su habilidad de flying) pero la destruccion del living lava lo esta, poniendonos muy cerca de la victoria.)

Round 4

Only with his last card, our enemy is defeated granting us the victory.

(Solo con su ultima carta nuestro enemigo es derrotado otorgandonos la victoria.)

Last words and possible improvements

I think it was an interesting battle where I try my best to create a good formation trying to anticipate my opponent's fire splinter use.
However it is fair to say that despite getting the victory a small change in the enemy formation with a second sneak card, a realignment changing the fifth position card for the fourth one or even a little luck with the serpentine spy, my enemy could have defeated me.
My formation would have greatly benefited from having a Corpse field in last position to protect from possible sneak attacks (or in second instead of the carrion and this one in last).

(Una batalla interesante creo yo en donde hago todo lo posible para crear una buena formacion anticipandome a la utilizacion de mi oponente de la splinter de fuego.
Sin embargo es justo decir que pese a conseguir la victoria un pequeño cambio en la formacion enemiga con una segunda carta de sneak, un realineamiento cambiando al carta de la quinta posicion por la de la cuarta o incluso un poco se suerte del Serpentine Spy le hubiera traido la victoria a mi enemigo.
Mi formacion se hubiera visto altamente beneficiada de tener un Corpse field en ultima posicion para proteger de los posibles sneak attacks(o en segunda en lugar del carrion y este en ultima).)
