Never Go Full 50

The Splinterlands Season ends and I have 50 play tokens going forward. This will be the first full season of the Energy change and it will be interesting to see some stats on how it affect game numbers. It would also be good to see what effects it has on account levels, as it seems that more people are climbing up the ranks into higher tiers and leagues. For instance, I will finish in Champion 1 for the first time and then start from Champion 3 for the start of the season, meaning there is more chance to get up the league fast and into C1 again. This will happen all the way down the league list.

Are there visualizations of league mobility anywhere?

I also finish with 84 Season chests, my most ever, but as I said, I did buy some Energy play tokens throughout the season. I am looking forward to seeing what is in those chests though! As I was saying the other day, the Soulbound cards have made me more interested to play, though I know for some of the bot armies, it has meant they no longer have incentive to play, as other than the SPS they collect, they have nothing to sell - so sad.

But, the other thing that would be useful to see in regard to Soulbound, are the distribution and combination figures. With the unbounded reward cards, the bot armies were collecting cards and dumping singles onto the market. With Soulbound, depending on league, the incentive is to combine cards to compete, so at least for now, there are likely a lot of combinations going on of the reward cards, but it will take a while for them to reach the higher levels, because they can't be bought cheaply as singles off the market, they have to be earned.

Splintercards don't show Soulbound card combinations - is there anywhere?

At the end of the next full season, it would be great if the Splinterlands team could do some public data analysis of the changes, because I think it gives a view for both players and investors to make decisions and predict what might happen down the track in terms of values. Also, seeing the changes let's players get a better view of the ecosystem in general, which builds interest as well as gives collateral for Splinterlands posts that hold investor value. Unlike Hive, Splinterlands has a specific core topic and should encourage a broad set of content subcommunities to develop around it.

The Season has just finished and it takes some time for the chests to become available to open, so I can't have a look yet. However, all my rounds have been played for the latest Brawl and I put on a respectable show this season and Shield of Glory should win the round, which also finishes in a few minutes.

With Smallsteps going to swimming lessons, Adventure Friday this week is going to be me opening up some chests and buying some Gladiator packs to open. Hopefully, I am able to get a few leveled-up this week, as it feels like slow going now, as the space between levels climbs.

These have also become more important in the league games, with the "Are you Entertained?" Ruleset which allows for a Glad import. Also, the same ruleset in Brawls means being able to field two gladiator cards and this will happen more and more once the new summoners are at a level to do the same in open play. The people who haven't been brawling will be at a disadvantage, so will the bots who haven't brawled, because Glads are Soulbound for now also.

But, while the new season has started, I am not sure if I should play, because I still seem to have a lot of stuff rented out for another 5-6 hours, meaning it will likely come with some costly losses. I will also have to rent a few cards and the prices are probably high still, which is why I rented out in the first place - to cover some rents.

But, now that I am home from work for the weekend ahead, it will be nice to have full credits to play with when I am ready.
