Let's see how far I can get in modern with 50 power and a bit of time to kill.

First Battle:

Got my butt kicked by a Kralus that was pumped three times by a martyr'd marksrat.

Second battle:

Obsidian ripped me apart. Need a second resurrection card to make my martyr strong enough.

Third battle:

Finally a win. Side note: The Imperial Knight might make an excellent lead if paired with units like Adelaide and Boatman which have armorer ability.

Fourth battle:

Low mana battle. Seeing how well the Desert dragon does. Hopefully the enemy uses a bunch of tiny troops.

Oops. Forgot about the equal life matchup. Desert Dragon was a poor choice. Should have gone life with multiple small units.

Fifth battle:
Another low mana battle. Let's see how a bunch of wimps will do.

Another win. This sneaker didn't stand up to my opportunity.

Sixth Battle:
A low mana no armor battle. Will try the desert dragon again. Hopefully his trample will prove enough :)

Trample wasn't on the menu but the desert dragon had enough bite to weaken the enemy for my harpy to finish them off with opportunity.

Seventh battle

Melee only so going with Mylor and thorns. Putting sneakers in the back and Grund up front. Will he be able to use that double strike to his advantage?

I thought that coastal sentry with Diemonshark would eat me alive. However, thorns cut them down to size. Another win for me.

Eighth battle

Low mana battle and trample multiple activate. Desert Dragon it is!

Oops. I'm only in bronze league. Desert Dragon doesn't get piercing yet! Got ripped apart :(

Ninth Battle:

Melee all get sneak. Time to bring out Mylor again to defend against sneak and bring out all the green stompy creatures.

Weird. Ranged attacker in first position? Not sure the rationale behind that.

Tenth battle:

Resurrect for everyone. I'll bring out a gladiator with opportunity, double strike and bloodlust. Hopefully the opponent brings out some weak troop relying on resurrect and I can get the bloodlust working for me.

That's first time I've seen a Zyrael in combat. Weapon training with the Truthspeaker make a powerful combination. Luckily Katrelba got additional speed with each kill so she was too fast for those ranged attackers to hit.

Results

After 10 battles I won 6 and lost 4.

I made some mistakes as I'm not used to modern (usually play wild).

I've gone from 100 rating up to 268 but I'm still so low tier that I'm not getting any progress towards reward chests. Also getting virtually nothing in SPS only about 0.1 SPS for all 6 wins.

I'll keep trying tomorrow to get a little higher rank. It will be slow going but hopefully I won't make silly mistakes like forgetting equal health ring rule and desert dragon doesn't have piercing in bronze :)
