Don't leave money on the table. Leverage general tags for extra earnings
Yesterday I posted about using the right tags in posts.
Typically, the number of tags you are limited to is 10. (That's the case for peakd's UI).
Check out this screenshot and you will notice that these two posts leverage similar but slightly different tags:
This great tool (URL https://hiveengine.usehive.com/) can show you pending token payouts for your posts on the blockchain. That's where I created the screenshot.
First post has fewer tags and fewer payouts.
The first post on the list is my "How your ACTIVITY on the blockchain can feed PASSIVE income."
^^^ That's a screenshot of the tags I entered when submitting my post. Apparently I beefed this one. :)
The tool doesn't list SPT payouts yet. I earned 56.464 SPT for this post. (For those of you wanting to earn SPT as well, check out this post.
The #leofinance tag nets me the LEO in the payouts. #ctp tag does the same for the CTP token as does #alive for the ALIVE token.
The remainder of the tags don't really pay, but they help with aggregation post types based on tagging\subject matter on the blockchain.
There's plenty of secondary usage for tags besides just earning, and I fill the remainder of my tags with topics to help catalog it.
Second post has more token tags and therefore more payouts.
The second post you see in the output from the tool is my "Earning CTP via CTPM... # winning! I just bought 205 CTPM Miners".
From this screenshot you can see I added additional tags that impacted my payouts:
- The ~0.43 NEOXAG token payout comes from the #neoxian tag I used.
- Likewise the ~1.33 POB tokens are from my use of the #proofofbrain tag.
- My SPT payout for this so far is 4.863 SPT
Those roughly exchange into: ~ 0.00047 Hive for the NOEXAG and 0.399 Hive for the POB.
I earned around 0.4 hive more with the tags, and that's not even with the same number of upvotes, etc.
Realistically ~ 0.4 HIVE I earned on the post WITH the tags, and a big zero - goose egg - nada - zilch earned in those tokens on my first post.
Use all 10 Tags for max profits.
For those of you in the back, THIS is why we make sure to use all 10 tags available per post.
If I consistently do this over time, I will wind up with additional 2nd layer tokens that are really worth something. Glad I could use my example of what NOT to do in a way to help you see what TO DO instead. :)
Tip: Back the communities you love.
There's a lof of other tags and tokens. Find the ones that matter to you.
What tags do YOU leverage?
I find that the ones on the bottom of this post are my most consistently used ones.
Which ones do you use for great effect?
Let me know what tags you use and why. I am always looking to learn more about the blockchain and the myriad of communities. Let's chat below. Leave a comment!
Peace and love,
-Rob
I use the same tag with you except this ctp, alive and ctpcontent.
Which coin does this tag ,I mentioned offer

#ctp tag is used to earn https://hive-engine.com/?p=market&t=CTP
#alive earns: https://hive-engine.com/?p=market&t=ALIVE
and #ctpcontent earns nothing. It's part of a ctp challenge for posting content 30 days in a row. We tag our content with this for the challenge we're in.
Thank you

Great tool to check pending rewards. Thanks for the post!
you are most welcome. Glad I was able to recommend a tool that works for you. I figure most people know about many of these. Maybe I need to do a post wher I talk about which tools I use.
That'd be cool!
I have a draft of it. I'll come back and post here so you get a reply notification when I am done. :)
Thank you for sharing the https://hiveengine.usehive.com link. There is always so much to learn inside of HIVE.
I've been using #pob tag (when I remember) and the #spt and #splinterlands tags when posting game content. I've seen the #neoxian tag, but had not done research yet on why and when I should use it. You've given me some good direction to improve my tag use. Cheers!
Nice! And you're most welcome. I didn't build that tool, I am only a user of it. :D
Gave you a follow.
Thanks! I'm glad we're connected. :-D
Great explain..ty
You are most welcome. 😀 Gad this one was of some use to you.
It was great value
I try to make sure that my tags are relevent to the community because people tend to get mad.
What do you generally do with your tribe earnings?
It depends. 😀
For Alive, I stake 1/2 and sell 1/2 which I use to buy DEC and feed my Splinterlands addiction. I like the #alive tribe and think much of my content also fits their #aliveandthriving content.
I love CTP, so I stake it all. I have ~ 19K in ctp incoming this evening from an unstake and transfer from another account. That will put me in the top 30 approx. on the richlist for the token. I upvote a lot of their content and use their front-end (ctptalk.com) often.
Archon I am staking some and selling some until I build out more of a holding so my upvotes pay people out well in these second layer tokens. Neoxag I do the same.
Everything else? I sell it and convert it to hive.swap which I then use to purchase miners on the communities I support the most (ctp and alive). I also buy and hold ctpsb and index, since those are both 'meta' tokens that support hive growth.
And like always, this is my personal opinion and not to be taken as financial advice. Form your own rational decisions based on more than my ramblings.
Oh, and the best part is that since it's on the blockchain, it's all on display. Everyone can see all transactions. Therefore it's all verifiable. https://he.dtools.dev/@threesteps
This makes being #transparent quite easy, and helps squash when people try to post BS.
and yes 100%! on the using the right tags on the right content. I am NOT endorsing anyone to content spam the wrong channel.
When I watch sports on tv, I don't want to watch cspan. Likewise on hive communities, I think we should use appropriate tags where they fit. The general tags for the 'anything goes' sort of communities like palnet, neoxian, archon, etc., I am fine with using those whenever. But ctp, leo, etc. I reserve for posts that fit those niches in some way. Otherwise it's content spam.
