Putting my Potions into use

This was the first time I was opening that "many" packs at once. Ten packs might sound ridiculous compared to others, but to me, it was a fair amount as I usually rather prefer purchasing individual cards right off the market.

With packs' prices dipping sharply this week, this was a chance for having some fun with a few bucks. I bought my 10 packs for less than $25, and if I had waited a few more days, I could even have got them for about $2 a pack.

Since I started the game about six months ago, I accumulated over 80 potions of each, Alchemy & Legendary, so this was a great opportunity to put them into use. In the following opening, they both worked their magic once as I got one Legendary and one Gold Foil out of it.

As I rarely open any packs, I took my time with this opening. I first hovered over each card to look for a Legendary. The yellow glow around one of the cards reassured me that this wouldn't be too bad. In total, there were 1 Legendary, 1 Epic, 13 Rares, and 35 Commons.

I went on flipping the Commons. Nothing outstanding, no Gold Foils, but I was still glad to accumulate a few Deeplurker and Flying Squid for example. Those would add up to my collection and, I might have enough someday to level them up.

It was now time to unveil the Rares. I got my first Obsidian out of it, which gave me the chance of owning at least a base-level copy of all the Rares Chaos Legion's Summoners. Then, the surprise came when Thaddius Brood turned out to be a Gold Foil!

Summoners are often more expensive than other cards. This is as true for Regular Foils as Gold Foils. Thaddius ended up being the only Gold card I've got out of this set of 50 cards. When I looked at @peakmonsters, it was also the last card of my last pack! Won on the River!

The Epic was Gem Meteor, which wasn't that great. Yet, I didn't own any copy of this card, so it was still a good addition to the deck. Finally, I was ready to unveil the Legendary I was offered. I silently prayed for not getting Zyvax Vuul, and fortunately enough it wasn't Zyvax!

Chaos Dragon it was! Chaos Dragon was one of the three most expensive Legendaries from the Chaos Legion's set at the time. I was glad to have it, but I felt that this Dragon gets really powerful only once it has Blast. For the time being, I needed Baakjira a bit more. So, I sold Chaos Dragon for Baakjira and a few extra DEC.

Opening packs is always a gamble. Even though I only spent $25 for those 10 packs, I would have simply broken even if it wasn't for the Gold Foil Thaddius Brood (~$20) who came to save the day at the very last moment!
