SPLINTERLANDS: Halfway through reaching my goal of OWNING 15k CP! [Breaking down my Collection Power into different CATEGORIES]

The Splinterverse

I remember, as a new player, having quickly found the game well-designed.
For example:
The daily quests incentivize players, if not mastering every splinter, to at least get a good grip of all of them.
The Collection Power required to access upper leagues, even though it is often arduous, forces players to try new cards that they wouldn't otherwise rent (or buy).
My lack of luck while opening Loots Chests led me to find other ways of earning DEC and keep making progress in the game.
Card Flipping
Probably a month and a half into the game, I discovered the opportunity of flipping cards. At first, it was because I was buying cheap cards to expand my collection. After staring at their price fluctuations for a few days, I noticed that I could actually make marginal profits here and there to grow my DEC nest.
#1: Buying a copy of each in-print Reward Cards

By doing so, I was slowly able to save up thousands of DEC (around 3k at one point). This was when I set the goal of owning a copy of each of the still in-print Reward Cards. It took me some time but Djinn Biljka finally completed my collection.
CP added: 2090 CP (27.72%)
#2: Buying other Cheap Cards

With the rest of my earnings, I started to do some bargain hunting that would bring value to my deck. A typical example was Ant Miners, while incredibly cheap, this card has helped me win uncountable battles. My focus was mainly on the Dice edition and older Reward Cards that weren't available in the starter deck.
CP added: 190 CP (2.52%)
#3: The Chaos Legion General Sale

When the General Sale started, I injected $30 into the game for purchasing half of the Epic cards of the newest edition. Not having the budget to level up enough cards anyway, my thinking was to build a Level 1 deck as diverse and versatile as possible. My only self-indulged treat ended up being spending a good chunk on Scorch Fiend.
CP added: 1400 CP (18.57%)
#4: Opening Chests

While I was growing my deck of cards, I steadily climbed the ladder as well. From Novice, to Bronze, to Silver, I was getting more and more Reward Cards, which buffed up my overall Collection Power (CP). Today, those cards represent a fair amount of my total CP.
CP added: 1640 CP (21.75%)
The first month of blogging
In my quest of always finding new ways of organically growing my assets in the game, I heard about Splintertalk. However, not having been active on social media for years, I wasn't sure about it. What pushed me to try was actually the community's reputation of being supportive and caring. So far, this is exactly how I would describe this community!
#5: Focusing on Gold Foils

I started pouring my recent earnings into buying new cards. My current objective is to get as many Commons and Rares Gold Foils as I can afford. Like I said earlier, I don't have the budget to max out a deck (yet). Getting Gold Foils is my way of taking advantage of leveled-up monsters.
Moreover, playing between Silver I and Gold III this season, the cumulative 10% given by each Gold Foil card is making much more sense than when I was in Bronze. In lower leagues, the earnings were so low that even a 50% bonus didn't make that much of a difference compared to the rental cost of the Summoners.
CP added: 2125 CP (28.18%)
#6: And one more thing: packs opening!

To wrap this up, I've opened two Chaos Legion packs for fun so far, which added 95 CP to my collection.
CP added: 95 CP (1.26%)
In a nutshell

CP currently owned: 7540 CP (100%)
Deck value: $80+
Time in the game: 104 Days
Moving forward
For the foreseeable future, I'll keep buying those Commons and Rares Gold Foils as they offer a fair utility/cost ratio. On top of adding CP, they blend well into my deck and cater to the needs of my current situation.
I hope to see you again once I'll reach the 15k of CP-owned threshold (Hopefully soon)!
