Part 13...If I were a new player, would I be able to play this game? Dust to Diamond!

Ok it's official. A noob player can NOT make it on a spellbook alone. Now with reward shares as it is, I'm only getting about 5 Rshares per win

and only if I use at least one owned card. and I had 98% capture rate.
Remember that I started with just a spellbook and nothing else about a month ago. So I have pretty much the basic rewards cards and one or two extras. Soooo....
I'm not sure what to do. I'll keep plodding along, but it may be impossible to even get a season chest, where as I was getting at least 5 before. But I'll reserve judgement until eos and see what happens.

It will be extremely difficult. What I may do, is compensate the noob account with 4k credits like they said they would for new spellbooks. I'm not sure yet, but I will wait until eos to determine the next step. In the mean time, I'll keep battling best I can. One of the challenges is that I have to use at least one card that I own. However that one card may be just a place holder and not necessarily of any real use or value in the match. Noobs are definitely not going to like this game. I think that this WILL be an absolute barrier to new players getting into the game. In face I believe the problem isn't the bots, it's the retention of real players and onboarding new ones. let me know what you think is the problem? How do you like the rewards? Until next time...

You’re absolutely right. I started playing about a month ago and was able to use the credits to buy cards but even with 1000 CP the SP and FC you get for every win are not enough (an average of 0 to 6 per battle).
Reaching 300 FC for the focus chest is impossible and after 3 days of grinding I got enough SP for my first season chest.
The problem is the more you play the lower your retention rate.
The only solution is to buy or rent good playing cards but how many noobs will just give up because it’s too difficult?
In my opinion unless you’re willing to invest a minimum of 10K credits on cards, buying the spell book is not worth it.
