Share Your Battle: Swamp Spitter

Prelude
Hello everybody, how is it going? It's time again for Share Your Battle. The recommended card for sharing this week is on Spirit Hoarder. It is a card that served me well and has formed up a special Earth Splinter combo that I always deploy. So instead of sharing on Spirit Hoarder, I want to continue on sharing cards from the new soul bound reward cards. For this week, it will be Swamp Spitter that I will be sharing.

Thoughts on Swamp Spitter

First look at this card, it looks like Ninja Turtle and Master Splinter combined into one. But is Swamp Splitter as good as what it looks like?

Let's look at the base stats of Swap Spitter Stats:

Bronze League - Armour + 1, Speed + 1
Silver League - Attack + 1
Gold League - Giant Killer, Speed + 1, Health + 1
Beyond Gold - Attack + 1, Armour + 1

This cards brought in a combat ready card with repair ability similar to the likes of Adelade Brightwing from Life Splinter.

As Swap Spitter grows in level, it acquires faster speed, more attack, more health and more armour. Every single stat get boosted which is a good thing. The subsequently it gains Giant Killer which is also a very ability to gain.

I am liking the outlook of this card, so let's put it to the test.

Prediction before pressing rumble
A little extreme here, card testing against a Llama lineup with many hard hitting cards. To be frank, when I saw Llama, my hopes of winning went real low. Who knows, I can score an upset against such a strong lineup.

Let's get ready to rumble

Round 1, Friendly round with no casualties. But I do see Swamp Spitter repairing Diemonshark's armour, while opponent Pelacor Mercenary health goes real low.

Round 2, Axemaster smashes Pelacor Mercenary while Swap Spitter continue repairing Diemonshark and lands a killing blow on opponent's Uraeus.

Round 3, Axemaster smashes Goblin Thief, while a combination effort from the remaining lineup help bring down Hunter Jarx after a fatal blow from Deeplurker. Diemonshark continues to get repaired.

Round 4, Mitica Headhunter fell to Diemonshark, Last Stand activated on Grund. A double strike 4 melee attack Grund stands before us, repairing on Diemonshark still happened.

Round 5, A good combined attack from the lineup help take down the massive Grund, with Diemonshark surviving. My full lineup stood up strong against a Llama lineup with 0 casualties. Victory secured!

After Thoughts

Wow, while I earlier thought it's gonna be another losing match, my lineup actually stood up to the test and scored an upset. And most importantly, all cards survived the onslaught. Diemonshark did a good job fending the front to keep the lineup safe even against a menacing Grund grown big with Last Stand.

Did my strategy work in this game? Yes it did. While I had faith in my selection, seeing Llama did caused me to lose hope and worried that my lineup/strategy will not work. But what I envision for Swap Spitter to do is as per how it performed to.

Will I be using such a lineup in the future? Yes especially when we have Lost Magic or Weak Magic ruleset. Because it is only in situations like this when armour become exceptionally important and that is where the ability Repair shines.

Repair
This ability changes the whole dimension of the game and is currently available to the following summoners:

In this match, the ability that I wanted to test out will be Repair which "Restores some armor to the friendly Monster whose armor has taken the most damage".

Cards with repair come in different forms. For cards that have repair ability at level 1, there aren't actually many.

Non attacking ones:
Scavo Hierling
Armoursmith

Attacking ones:
Adelade Brightwing
Swamp Spitter

Summoner:
Chanseus the Great

I haven't get to use Chanseus before, so I cannot really comment.
But for the non-summoners, I have had my experiences with all of them.

Non-attacking ones tend to require lower mana and become very viable in low mana matches where the boost the front line tank to keep them alive which backline does it barrage. On higher mana, I prefer to call upon the Combat Repair folks which come in the likes of Swamp Spitter and Adelade. This is important because every space in the lineup counts in high mana matches. So a card which can contribute to attack and perform Repair at the same time.

Swamp Spitter is a good addition to Water Splinter lineup. The Combat Repair that it offers really become handy for non magic match really helps to sustain the front tank for the backline to do their damage. Hope all of you able to get multiple copies of it and put it to good use. Happy battling!
