Social Media Challenge: Splinterlands Weekly (May 5 - May 11) + Brawl Report

Greetings everyone, how is everybody doing this week? It's been a rather busy week but with pockets of time to continue growing my account and learning to be better in my gameplay. Today's post will include my account growth and also the most recent brawl report for PIZZA 2.

Let's start things off with how my collection power increased since the last update.

An average week of chest drops. Card count is not high with quite a number of potion/SPS drops. Hoping to get some of the legendary soul bound cards to strengthen my collection but they have been elusive. Praying that they appear when I open end of season chest later this week.

Brawl Report
Time for some brawl action! Let's take a look look at the matches I played this brawl. As usual, I am anchoring Fray 3 for my guild which is the Novice Chaos Legion Fray, so cards will be at lowest form without additional levelled up stats/abilities.

Set a trap with Venari Marksrat to boost my Quora. I find this combo of Martyr ability very good.

Outcome: Win. Boosted Quora takes down everybody and gets bigger with each kill.

This is little league match, big Gladius such as Quora cannot be fielded, so this time round I fielded Betrol Gobson.

Outcome: Win! For a little league, key is to have Queen Mycelia to give protection then Betrol did the rest and tear apart my opponent lineup.

Low mana match, hence I tried to diversify and fill up the board on my side, especially there is resurrection for each card.

Outcome: Win! For this, somehow filling the board is more important as each card can be revived once, which essentially mean they able to take damage and come back.

Outcome should be quite straightforward looking at how the 2 lineup goes.

Outcome: Win! I fielded the best I could for Life Splinter though I didn't have much. A surprise when I saw my opponent's lineup.

Wow, my opponent want to do a double martyr. We have similar lineups, one extra martyr vs me placing Gargoya Devil.

Outcome: Win! The good thing that happened was that the double martyr occured onto a Goblin Tower which could not attack when it is right at the first position.

Playing the same trick as the first match, will it still work?

Outcome: Won! That trick worked again and created monster Quora.

Hmm... Kulu Mastermind and Baakjira. This is problematic since Kulu Mastermind able to give Baakjira ability to attack.

Outcome: Lost. I thought I had the chance to win till Kulu Mastermind drop the final blow on me just at the turn when the last poison will hit. This is one card I hope I can own someday it is really strong and can make cards with no attack able to attack.

Back to basics, I fielded more magic cards so that they can attack from anywhere.

Outcome: Lost. Lesson learnt, when we are preparing to field more range cards, every additional card helps because it give 1 more opportunity for the range card to hit before getting stuck at first position.

Super low mana match, gamble with Quora to see if able to win.

Outcome: Won! Double attack, heal and blood lust allowed us to push through.

Guild Final Tally

I am assigned 9 matches this brawl, I won 7 and lost 2. The 2 losses got me a good lesson learnt on using more padding for range attackers while another let me had a taste of weapons training from Kulu Mastermind, which I personally feel is a real awesome card to have.

While I chalk up quite a fair bit of wins, we did not clock in sufficient wins for us to climb the standings. Let's hope for more participation in the next brawl to bring home more wins. I know we can do this together fellow PIZZA 2 members. Keep fighting and go PIZZA 2!

Thoughts about Splinterlands Journey
Ups and downs in brawl suggests more room for growth and for each member to strengthen their game play. And when we all come together, we can achieve more. That is where all the fun is and how I am enjoying Splinterlands.
